I have an admission to make: I am powerless over site optimization and it was making my life out of control. Speed, speed and more page-loading speed. I tried all of the contenders out there and they gave me problems. Then I found this plugin. Especially in it's latest stages, with its exclusionary lists for .js(like xajax.js) and css exclusion by file, all of a sudden it works like a dream. Set it up, turn on the Joomla Cache plugin, add Query Cache and the site just flat out rocks and rocks hard. Our new site is on Dreamhost's VPS service, which has xcache as well, and our site, as it is coming along is stupid fast now and its score in YSlow is brilliant.

You cannot ask for much more than that.

Job Grok List
Came along at just the right time for me, as I am working for a company that has, as a job application menu selection, a link to an .xls form. Can you say "Ewww!". I know I did. This thing just dropped in and rocked. Now, all I have to get from the authors is where the terms of employment are, so I can edit them for the state the company is in, then all will be perfect.

If you need something like this, check it out. It really is farging great.

CQI - CustomQuickIcons
As others have said, this is a component that should be folded into Core. On the other hand, the number of great components out there that should be in core is great enough that the Joomla! distro package would balloon to the size of the FTP repository of WUSTL. Hence, this is something a new Joomla! user needs to get clued in on.

An easy to use UI is vital. It makes workflows smooth and efficient. The native UI in Joomla! is good, but CQI simply takes it to a new level. It is easy to use, and exposes the new user to core administration cxoncepts of Joomla! in a clear fashion, helping to cut the learning curve. And it makes running Joomla! easier.

I teach a class in Joomla at a local Adult Education school. Tonight, part of the class is going to be spent with CQI. I consider this class will be an important and productive one.
