Modules Anywhere
I used this module inside Jomsocial Group's and profiles. The module installed and worked without fail. I had a slight problem with the module's css being loaded which appears to be an issue with the module itself as other modules were fine.

Regardless of where the problem lied, Peter was fabulous providing support in less than one day and continued to provide support with my numerous questions day after day. Peter went beyond my expectations and suggested additional ways I could meet my needs. Of course all of this was done free of charge.

In the end, I am delighted with the product and overwhelmed with the support.

Well done and thanks Peter.

JomSocial
This component is a must for any community with most of the expected community features and more. The team, especially Mark are brilliant with support answering questions everyday day and night. The entire community is extremely active and helpful. It is still quite new and you should expect some bugs - however they are solved quickly with what seems like weekly updates.

They could improve by:
1) Providing patch releases instead of requiring complete installs;
2) Improving their communications to their customers;
3) The support forum could be better organised.

Overall, you cannot go wrong with this one.

Counter.GD joomla counter & stats
This is a very easy to use module. Install, get the counter ID from their website and go. Unfortunately, there are too many negative things for me to use it at this time.

Good:
- easy and fast to install
- records the statistics on a remote server saving performance of your server / database since your server is not writing to tables each page view
- clean, simple and effective user interface
- fast reporting server using ajax

Bad:
- I believe, forgive me if my understanding is incorrect. I don't really know programming. That said, I believe the logo and application javascript are pulled from a remote server. The installed module's job is to just call that script and sit back. This could potentially be a security threat should that javascript change and request information such as user id and pw. Perhaps this is not possible?
- Data is not secure as it does not require an ID / PW to look at the statistics. A competitor can easily click from the counter ID logo (on your webpage) to view your traffic information including search terms.
- Website in English, install instructions in German
- The counter ID logo is visible on your website. Perhaps its possible to create an invisible position to publish this module?? If so, this would help with superficial security as well.
- Does not track Joomla visitors but just IP addresses
- My country details were incorrect. I came from Singapore and it reported me as USA
- Did not display the version numbers of the browser just the browser brand (ie FF, IE, etc.)

Recommendations:
- provide a secure login to view the statistics.
- run all javascript from our server rather than pulling from your central server
- from a design point of view, its nice that the data is off site reducing demand on our server. perhaps you could provide the backend modules for us to install on one of our own servers giving the benefits of a remote server and security

I gave this an average because the distributed computing design is good. That said, I would not recommend this as I believe there is a very high security risk.
