The Joomla! Extensions Directory ™

So far, this is the best video gallery in Joomla today. There's no need to convert any videos you just upload one from your computer or put your YouTube video URL and voila! You're done.

It's really easy to install, too. It's just a component, not a plug-in. I don't even really use the the extra modules that come with it. Just install through your Joomla back-end administrator page, then make a new menu and your front-end website automatically has a video gallery that's all your own.

But here's why I don't give it five stars:

1) It doesn't accept all formats (I couldn't upload WMV), but it takes a lot of other types so it's not the end of the world

2) It has a steep price tag, but there's really no difference in the free version except for their logo, but it's not that obtrusive. (I just use the free version)

3) You have to register to download, but that takes only five seconds


All in all, I'm VERY pleased with this component extension. No other extension component is plug & play. Compare it to their rival plugin, Jvideo, but that's only if you have FFMPEG hosting (if you don't it's a pain to install, although it's much cheaper in the short run).

I feel like this component does a generous amount to small websites like mine, even though their steep asking price is insane, but probably only meant for high-yield customers so it's justified. Who knows, it may get lower once another rival steps in.

But until that happens, you cannot go wrong with this extension. You would have to be pretty clueless or a complete Joomla beginner to not easily install this puppy.
