Having been plagued by persistent spam registrations for the last couple of months I've tried every single captcha plugin and component available, none of which stopped any of the spam sign ups on my site.
I stumbled across this plugin by accident and a bit half heartedly decided to give it a go. I have to say that it's got to be the easiest system to use and there's absolutely nothing to modify unlike most of the captcha plugins. I've finally gone more than 2 days without any spam registrations which is a big relief!

It's really good and I haven't noticed any incompatibility problems in different browsers. Would be very cool if the visitor or logged in user could add site links to the toolbar like some sort of favourites function, and also if the user could remove buttons they didn't want or could choose from a selection (a bit like you can with facebook).

I would have given this module an excellent review as it's really very good however the developer has seen fit to hide a hidden link back to their own website within the source code, this link is set to 'display: none'. You will find this link hidden away in the modules folder/tmpl/default.php or you will see it if you view your page's source code.

JFusion is probably the best thing that's happened to Joomla, it's simple to install and integrates a variety of forum softwares from SMF to PHPBB.
JFusion is constantly worked on, updated and improved, but although there are frequent upgrades to this component it doesn't mean any extra work for you as site administrator as the JFusion component does all the work for you, it's basically just a one click update to upgrade this component to the latest version.
Support is excellent and fast and I would recommend using the JFusion component over any other forum integration solution.

When I first created a listings directory for my Joomla site I chose to use a commercial component it soon became apparent that the commercial directory component I was using just wasn't up to the job.
I had another look around and discovered that SOBI 2 had many, many more features and gave me endless possibilities to expand my directory via a formidable array plugins, modules and addons. In fact you can do just about anything with SOBI 2 it's far more than just a directory component.
Support from the developer via the SOBI community forum is excellent and the SOBI component is continuously developed meaning that it just keeps on getting better!

This is the best weather component that I've used for Joomla 1x. But I too am having problems with the new terms and conditions from weather.com.
I made the file changes as mentioned previously (&link=xoap&prod=xoap)but now the weather component only shows the current conditions and no 10 day outlook and also the required 4 additional links to weather.com (pollen count etc) that should display aren't showing up so I think that there is something else that needs to be edited.
I wonder if it's possible to let us know what else needs to be changed or better still if the updated files could be added to the download section.

The issue with the 10-day forecast not showing is different than the link issue.
To correct the "Forecast Not Showing" issue, please review the following text file:

It's a very good bot but the only snag is that it also loads inside some modules such as the default newsflash module which doesn't have the parameter to disable mambots from firing inside it so you end up with the sociable buttons displaying 2 or more times in a page.
Is there a way to prevent this, some code that can be added to the sociable bot perhaps?
