It was difficult to find a FREE, sophisticated forum to seamlessly integrate into my website---Ninjaboard does. This application is a shining example of what Gnu applications can be: user-friendly, admin-friendly, aesthetically sharp (without over-stylization), multi-featured, and intuitive. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a dynamic forum, which operates and assimilates flawlessly.
My only (teeny tiny) issue, is the apparent lack of image options. If there is a way to upload custom avatars, I can't see out how to do it. But maybe I haven't looked hard enough (the website's not yet ready to go live, so I have some time to figure it out).
Great job, Ninjas! Thank you!
Hi,
Thanks for your kind words.
We don't have a custom avatar gallery feature yet.
But we would be happy to discuss it in our forums with you
Thanks
Don't get me wrong, it's a useful tool, and a GREAT idea, but lemme' be more specific:
1) Why must it install to the CP? I was really hoping for a component-esque interface---I don't really see the point of navigating away from the admin. page, if it could just as easily be tacked on to one of the sub-menus.
2) TODO causes my CP drop-down module to act kinda' wonky, so I assume there is some sort of compatibility issues there (for example, I can't select the TODO list, without also activating the top-most category in the module...in other words, both parent categories activate simultaneously, which gets pretty annoying).
3) I had kind of anticipated a more pleasant, eye-catching interface--a TODO list is not just about listing things to do! It's also about crossing things off of the list, and organizing the list in such a way that it can be visually mapped and modified (so-to-speak). I guess I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't keep a more dynamic visual log of what I had already accomplished (by way crossing things out, for example), and what was still left to do. Also, users really need to have greater control over the way the list is organized--that aspect of it almost feels like a no-brainer. And perhaps the list could branch off into hierarchies, too!
Sorry to be so verbose in my criticism, but I gave it a lot of consideration and thought before I decided to submit my review. I wanted to offer helpful suggestions, if you decide to update the application in the future. Otherwise, though, the idea is dynamite, and so far you guys seem to have cornered the market for this type of extension!
TODO List is good, but I think it could be even better! ^_^
So I admit, I already accidentally posted my review of this product to the wrong web developers' listing (oops)--but what I said there (more-or-less), I am happy to repeat here!
This Microblog extension is excellent, easy to operate and integrate, and also quite attractive. It meets my needs perfectly, with a modest amount of customization and features at my disposal, in a straight-forward interface. In fact, I would recommend most any of the products published by the JOOFORGE development team. So long as you either speak Italian, or have one of the thousands of free translation plug-ins installed to your browser, I have a hard time understanding how language poses any barrier.
All of the JOOFORGE products are quaint/ niche, well-executed, visually appealing, and operate smoothly.
I give it five stars, definitely!
Simple Guestbook definitely meets all of the above criteria, which (in retrospect), seems like kind of a lot!
Thanks, and keep those wonderful open-source extensions coming!
hi, thnx alot for u r review and support.
Great work, people...keep it up! ^_^
Perhaps there aren't many other web designers/ masters who need a plugin like this, but for those of us who don't write code, or who do not want to take on a huge, cumbersome "User Access" extension, just to mandate the front-end article editing parameters, this little plugin is down-right perfect.
Thanks to the developers, and cheers! ^_^
