Imagesized plugin for Joomla 1.5.x
The idea behind this is so very practical : create thumbnails next to article intros that follow size constraints...like any article driven site (take, for example the New York Times). That way a designer can create a layout and the unknowing client doesn't mess up the look!

This extension is great because it provides a link to the full article (either the text or the image) and I am sure that it's CSS can be easily manipulated.

The only problem (and it's been mentioned before in these reviews) is precisely what should be the main interest of this extension: the thumbnail images. Yes, the thumbnail creation is automatic but I don't want a mini version of my original image...because then my thumbnails are not uniform. And borders and background colors to "imply" that they are all the same size doesn't work for me. Note to the developer: I do not mind if my images are cropped in order to make nice thumbnails. Look at the Ignite Image Gallery and how it makes thumbnails...if you can figure that out, this extension will be an amazing / integral part of joomla.

Slimbox Image Gallery Plugin for Joomla! v 1.5
Usually when looking for gallery extensions, I'm looking for something that a technically impaired person would easily understand. 1. I'm not going to ask a client to make his/her own thumbnails according the dimensions of the design that I made for them and 2. I'm not going to ask them to insert the code into their content...anything that resembles code absolutely terrifies them.

That is to say, the thumbnail creation should be automatic and this should at least be a component. All and all, I love the simplicity of the slimbox gallery and I'd use it on my own for a very limited amount of images but in the end, the cross-referencing with the media gallery gets fatiguing and again, this is not for the technically impaired.

Ignite Gallery (With Slideshow)
I was looking for an easy to use gallery extension for a technically inept client and I found the ignite gallery to be completely tactile and hassle free. The support on this one is amazing and the developer is really devoted to his project.
The design of this gallery is elegant and you can pretty much tweak it however you'd like. You tell the client to upload one image and then voila, perfectly proportioned thumbnails, images, lightboxes are created. All gallery extensions should be this easy!
My only improvement would be to somehow better align the description with the image (this may be difficult if you have images with many different formats). In any case, Thank You for this amazing extension (well worth the price)!
