Just wanna say that the plugin does what it says. I had no issues installing and enabling... works perfectly.


@drhiii - In reference to finding the download: All I did was click the download button above, then when on the authors site, scroll down and you see the download right there. Don't really know what the issue is.

I really don't think this plugin deserves a poor rating. It works as it should with no issues what-so-ever.

First I must say, if an article about code or patches has this patch as attachment at the end of article, it maybe the fastest possibility to find it, beneath the related search tags! But people are more familiar to navigate through download-categories to find a button to click...

I suppose the author of the code knows exactly what he does, adding usability and a good SEO workaround for that [...] search in Joomla.

@drhiii, if you didn't get what you expected from this plugin, perhaps it is based on the fact that you can't see the changes because you're not a searchbot at all??? ;-)

I feel this plugin was a great idea, another step on reducing the massive lack of SEO/META coming with native Joomla.

This time I must. I studied the reviews and felt this was a good bet, for the Search Plugin.

First, when going to the website for download, it is a most non-intuitive website. I spent several minutes trying to find out where to download. The theme or template appears to be broken too, so pages were not consistent. I had a very hard time navigating just the simple pursuit of finding where to download.

Finally did. Installed fine. Went to Enable, did so, but there was no 'placement' selection. So, I have no idea where this plugin is supposed to appear.

Went back to the site for support. What support? I could not find anything on FAQ, ReadMe, installation, nada. Again, found trying to navigate the host site very poor.

So to avoid a negative review, I go to my last resort which was to send a simple 'help' email. I cannot find anything that references "Contact Us", nothing. Again spent useless minutes trying to find the simplest contact point. I finally gave up and have uninstalled the plugin. If I am missing the obvious, I will rescind my negative review. But folks, this download and support web site is one of the worst for intuitive navigation and just plain and simple support. Very poor. I do not know why people do not step back and look at what regular users will see, but this is what prompted me to post a negative review. There was nothing about the effort to download the app, locate help, locate a contact address, nothing that worked smoothly. It should not be nearly so difficult as what I experienced.

Great tool, very useful for SEO if used with other tag-searching extensions such as RafCloud or Search Tags.

If you have sh404SEF enabled though, make sure you set it so it does not apply to 'search' - otherwise the page title will probably not be renamed.

I had already resigned myself to messy search results of joomla sites, with one page coming up umpteen times and the resulting search page a mess... This is not just the best, it is the only good searchbox for joomla i have yet seen.
And in a nice small box without extra branding like googles, too!

this is really what im looking for. this plugin may fool the search engine as if the real article is inside ^_^

Works as advertised. When you type a search phrase, view the HTML for the results page and you'll see the meta keywords.
