By using Labels, you can overcome the restriction of having an article in only one category in Joomla.
One of the most exciting parts of Labels is that it takes the idea of tagging content to a whole new level by not only grouping content for visitors, but by performing the same organization for site administrators as well. No longer will content managers have to sift through all the articles and extensions on your site - no matter how simple or complex your site it, finding and editing content is only a few clicks away.
Rich Media Support:

We needed a tool that would allow us to present our articles by "topic." Labels works perfectly, and integrates nicely with everything else on our site. This is a very well made product, and the support has been top-notch.

The quality of this extension is superb! Got it running in under 5 minutes and I can see it has some innovative features that will also make my life as a site administrator easier! That is a nice extra!
I tried some "free" solutions, but only Labels worked perfectly directly after install.

I spent weeks trying to make other plug-ins work. I had this going in 15 minutes. I sure wish I had tried it when I was looking for something to make Joomla do tags right. This really puts Joomla on par with WP when it comes to tags.
I've used the WYSIWYG editor from these guys before too and it's pretty solid.

Not only has JXtended invested their Comments and ACL extensions into Joomla 1.6, the JX team has produced a top-notch tool with Labels.
Labels allows you to tag your content with relevant keywords. Then it creates tag lists and clouds to find and cross-reference your content. Tag clouds (also known as "weighted lists") are great "Google bait" and give your users an easy way to instantly track down relevant content on your site. Then when users locate what they're looking for they also find related items, which makes your site "stickier" than ever.
Labels comes with the core component, a plugin, and a few modules to display the tags in various formats. It's compatible with the other JX components, is Joomla 1.5 native, and is bargain-priced. Highly recommended.

I have been using JXtended's Labels extension for a while on my site, and I am thrilled with it. I have over 2000 labels right now, and Labels is performing amazingly. I use it to tag events with the names of people involved in the events.
The genius thing about this extension, is that it gives website owners the power of tagging content items with any number of labels, but allowing tight control over the way the labels are implemented, displayed and managed. It's a great holistic solution.
The performance is also amazing, which is not really surprising, all of the JXtended extensions are super efficient and elegant.
Finally, the support is amazing, really great detailed responses from really smart developers.
Highly recommended!

I can't believe it took me so long to find / come across this. It gets around one of the major shortfalls of Joomla which is that it is very hard set up content that falls within multiple areas and yet is still easy to use in Admin for your clients.
Labels gets round this so that it doesn't matter so much what Section or Category an Article is in. You can get to it in multiple ways from the frontend.
Labels is all pervasive and has a Component, Modules, plugin, menus, multiple parameters, template overrides...
My only issue is that the deeper you go with Labels from the frontend the harder it is to customise. Also I don't think it works yet with sh404sef.
Anyway a great addition to Joomla and no doubt I'll be using it on many of my clients sites.

When this comment was made, Labels did not include sh404SEF support but as of version Labels 1.0.1 sh404SEF support is included.
