bo:ResetArticleHits Module

bo:ResetArticleHits provides an administration module that can reset the hits of an individual article. It is also possible to change the number of hits to a value other than 0. In addition, the module offers filtering options to narrow and sort the article list.

Current versions:
- Joomla 2.5: 1.4.0
- Joomla 3.x: 2.0.1

Feedback in form of error descriptions or suggestions for improvement are always welcome.

Good module, Joomla should not remove this option. Thank you Alfred Bösch

I really like this as you not only see the individual article hits list but you can reset it too with great ease - saves a lot of time too. Have used it in 3.1.16 and 3.2.0

This extension is brilliant. It simply does what it is meant to do. after installing, all i had to do was just enter the number i wanted to reset my articles to and click a button only once. It did the trick immediately. I have never had any cause to complain about this brilliant extension. Very well done to the developer. The only other thing i would like to say is that i wished the extension had the ability to reset weblinks as well.

Adding the ability to reset weblinks would make it the best all time reset extension in my humble opinion.

Good extension indeed. It does what it says it does. Filter is now implemented and very useful to select the proper articles.
However, since there is no filter enabled at the beginning, ALL articles are listed. It makes page loading slow when there are MANY, MANY articles.
In my opinion default filter should be set with some "dummy" value avoiding ALL articles to be listed at once in order to speed up page loading time. Thanks.

This is the best simple extension I've seen in a long time! Straight forward, easy to use, easy to install, and it works! In some respects, accessing article settings from the cpanel is an improvement over ANY joomla native process. In the end, the mark of any great extension is a balance between how critically needed it is, and how well it's executed. This little tool should go in the Joomla extension hall of fame.

This module works nice and does it´s work. Anyway - if you have many articles and would like to reset some (let´s say 30 pcs) of them, I would appreciate some check boxes belonging to each article, you would check what you want to be reset and do it all together. Now you have to click on each article-hits one by one, click on reset button one by one and wait until the page reloads one by one. Little tedious... But for usual work it´s really great. Thanks to author!

Just installed bo:ResetArticleHits to reset hits of a new article that had recorded all my preview hits as author (sure wish we could disable hit tracking for authors).

After enabling the admin module and publishing in cpanel position the job is now super easy to reset hits on an article by article basis.

The search and category view speed finding what the user is looking for. Does just what it promises. Excellent - Thank you!

Easy to Install and Use. Works perfectly.

I use it to reset my 404 error page to zero every month or so.

Thanks tons for a great free tool.

Joomla 2.5.x made it impossible to manage article hits and reviews. Helped me out when I needed it. Thanks.

Seeing that Joomla 2.5 removed the reset button for article hit counter, I was pleased to find this extension added.

I still would like to see the reset button on individual articles but this extension does what it says.

Lets you reset an article's hit counter without having to go through your database with phpmyadmin.

You publish this extension on the Admin cPanel and you will get a list of all your articles and the ability to reset the hit counter for individual articles.

The articles are listed in alphabetical order. There's no search filter or category filter so if you have a ton of articles you may need to scroll through a long page list.

Aesthetically, reset button text is not in english as well as the module name and column titles look like this: "MOD_BO_RESETARTICLEHITS_ITEMS" & "MOD_BO_RESETARTICLEHITS_RESET_HITS".

If you need to reset hit counter for individual articles, this will do it as long as you don't mind the flaws aesthetically and scrolling through a long page if you have tons of articles.

Hello Abishai,

thank you for your review.

I have updated the module with some new features. Now it should be better to handle the articles.

Best regards
Alfred Bösch
