Parameters:
- "Character Set".
- "Display Copyright Text?" (Options: Show / Hide) => This means the "Copyright © 2008-2009 Your Website" part.
- "Year Display Format" (Options: Start year only / Current year only / Start year - Current year).
- "Start Year" => This means the "2008" part in "Copyright © 2008-2009 Your Website".
- "Site Name" => This means the "Your Website" part in "Copyright © 2008-2009 Your Website".
- "Separator" => This means the "..::.." part in "Copyright © 2008-2009 Your Website ..::.. All rights reserved".
- "HTML Code or Plain Text? (on Line 1)" and "Custom Text on Line 1" => This means the "All rights reserved" part (data type and data content) in "Copyright © 2008-2009 Your Website ..::.. All rights reserved".
- "HTML Code or Plain Text? (on Line 2)" and "Custom Text on Line 2" => This means the "Text on line 2" part (data type and data content) in:

Both double and single quotes are automatically escaped.

If you feel like providing a translation for your language, your help will be greatly appreciated :-)
To do so:
1) Please make sure that your language is not already supported or currently in development.
2) Please download the template language ".ini" file from the "Custom Footer" download page.
3) Please translate all the parts coming after "=".
4) Once your language file is ready to be published, please send it to me.
5) I will merge your language file with the existing "Custom Footer" application, and release a new version of the extension.
6) Your name will be added to the list of contributors.

i want to display startyear-endyear but start and end years are the same this year (too much "year"!!).
so the result is
copyright 200X-200X
i have to switch to currentyear only or startyearonly for this year and back to start-end the next year... but i'm too lazy so i've changed row 18 of helper.php in
if ($yearFormat == 1 || $startYear==date("Y"))
now if start and end years are the same only one is displayed!
i hope it could be usefull

I was having a big problem trying to add very simple text links to the bottom footer of my website. This was due to a template that I had purchased. I wanted to add FAQ's, CONTACT US and PRIVACY links. This extension solved the problem perfectly!

I have used this module since the day I found it and have been very happy with it. One day I saw that there were some modules with the current year built in and I emailed the owner with the idea. He was very enthusiastic about the idea and said he would start on it right away.
The newest version is absolutely fantastic and very easy to use. I think that even if I could implement these things without the module I would still just use the module because of how easy it is to use. Great Job!!!

I was horrified to find that a custom module used as a footer did not cloak email addresses. This module does the cloaking job perfectly. Also you can use any html content you want - just copy and paste into the box. My only suggestion to enhance it is to provide a larger box to enter the html into.

This is a simple footer module that is all you need, works out of the box, just install > enable and set it as default footer with my text and I'm done..

but in your next release you might want to set the default setup save as UTF 8 as some servers cause creation of unwanted characters..

Module seemed to enter a couple of spurious entries which threw the formatting out. Fixed the problem by inserting in the custom text that I specified for the footer.

The kind of tools a newbie like me can't do without. Installed and setup in no time. Not only it removed the joomla license GNU/GPL bit but it enabled me to add an extra personal line to my footer.

After wasting about 2 hours going through all the php files to find out how to get rid of the Joomla copyright info on the mod_footer I found this module to use instead. 2 minutes and it was all up and running - exactly what I wanted. Thanks for a brilliant little module

If you just want one line, an error saying something like "$pathX" is undefined.
I inserted at line 11 before :
$part1 = "Copyright © ".date("Y");
inserted this above:
$part1 = "";
$part2 = "";
$part3 = "";
$part4 = "";
$part5 = "";
