I've tried a few different SEO plugin's (I have a pretty limited experience) I've found AceSef to to a great product with outstanding personal support. I recommend this completely

I am sad to say, this is my first negative review. The support is VERY lacking, and they seem to forget you. Even a paid customer.

This component has potential, however, it also has several issues for a site that is not just a vanilla Joomla install.

I had a site that was already built, and figured to install AceSEF free version. That went okay, though was told for more features and support, I would need the pro version. Thought that was a good idea.

Once installed, it messed up several of my more popular components, including JomSocial, jDownloads, p8pbb3 Bridge, and several others. I ended up paying $70.00 usd for added plugins and set up a ticket. The ticket stating my problems was on March 15th.

Twice someone logged onto my site to "fix" the problems, and twice they ended up breaking more than the original problem.

I was then messaged almost 3 weeks later asking what the problem was. I stated what was it, and then nothing again.

I ended up uninstalling the component, reverted back to a backup, and cleaned up the site again. It was working perfectly.

On April 24th, I was messaged again asking why I uninstalled AceSEF. They said they understood my frustrations and would get this fixed for me.

They did not log into my site until May 5th, and once more broke additional things, including our forum.

As of today, this is still not fixed and even though I was told they were going to fix it in an "hour" three days ago, no one has logged in.

Very disappointing support, very disappointing product, and was not worth the money.

I am hoping that this review may help JoomAce review their support policy, and improve upon it.

Everytime this componant it messed up every link on my site. Generated excessive URL's and caused warning errors with any extension i had installed on my site that required a PAID extenstion.

Should be listed as commercial.

I tried the extension to work with Listbingo and JWallpapers, but I was having hard time figuring out the configurations, then I felt the need to try other similar then I purchased Shsef404 but I could not get the URLs needed, Uninstalled and re-installed Acesef again and purchased the plugins for JWallpapers and Listbingo and couldn't get working the way I wished. Then contacted support for the paid plugins and the owner got everything resolved. The support for the plugin extensions I bought was excellent.
The good on this extension is that you can work in a general basis-settings and/or by component, meaning that can give different or custom settings to each Joomla extension. That is good because the changes you make does not affect the whole universe of your website.

its very fast in large sites, easy to customize, lot of posibilities, a good way to get full control of seo of your sites.

AceSEF is the best seo suite for all series of the joomla. I would strongly recommended that you, if you want powerful seo assistant. I'm using AceSEF with Joomla 1.5 and 2.5 series. I like AceSEF because of it is very useful, sensitive, clever, and fully equipped.

Today I installed Acesef free version for J2.5. It does not work properly with Beez 2.0. When I open or close the info panel. automatically I get redirected to the home page.

The developer's new support policy as of today is that the free version has no suppport whatsoever. Instead you must pay $9. to get one month support.

I don't mind paying for a license to upgrade to an enhanced version once I have confirmed that the free version will work ok. But I don't want to pay for something, even a small amount, only to find that the product will not work on my site, or is just too much hassle.

While it looks like a potentially useful product and get a decent rating, unfortunately the other ratings available just don't fit.

At this point I have placed this product in the too much hassle category and uninstalled it.

Assuming that i was was aware that SEF is a very complex issue in advance ... i tried out this free SEF-Extension.

On first place installed very smoothly, presenting a very nice user-interface.
Installed it, configured all adjustements to be done, ready, steady - go. So far so good, but this is where all the trouble began!

Meanwhile have i spent 2 weeks of my precious lifetime editing wrongly interpreted and correcting 404s and duplicated URLs ... just to find myself having to begin again and again from the top!

ACEsef seems to be a very nice tool and IF it would be working correctly i would definately stick to it.
But i had to DEinstall it as my whole website was messed up after using it.

My main critcs are:

1.) ACEsef has a few bugs. Once you edit some URL (wether a duplicated or 404) after saving it the list of URLs just disappears from screen! Cant get it back by reloading page. Sometimes it appears again by changing the component-dropdown, but not for sure. This is very annoying and a P...-i.-t..-A..!
2.) Sometimes when you edit an URL the edit-window just shows up fullscreen not getting back to normal even if you save or cancel the action. Have to switch back to last page in browser.
3.) the URLs get wrongly interpreted all over and over again. Once you have the right configuration set up and all URLs are ok, next day it ears up all things and it starts adding new URLs with 404s and Moved-URLs ... not keeping the ones you already have set up correct.

I couldn´t get the extension to work correctly after 14(!) day of intense tryout and adjustments, correcting URLs again and again, reading all possible information there is such as Forum and helpfiles or documentation. And i am not a novice nor to joomla or computing in general.

I am sure that ACEsef is a powerful extension with many features. But as said not yet working correctly in all aspects. Maybe one day worth trying again if all problems have been sold out. For now not worth a penny (for me!).

Even if I use the free edition, it's a great development. Easy to use and powerful.
Help offered from Support staff of AceSEF is fast and very well explained.

After migrating from 1.5 to 1.7 I could figure out everything. The only I do not get to work is this tool. It installs smoothly and I configure everything. I read all forums and asked for support. But still not working. For a commercial tool not worthed one penny as I can not get it up and running

I purchased extention ACESEF_TPDugg, yesterday, in order the generate metatags... Now all the TPDugg article links point to one article. NO matter which article link you click, all point to one article... Yet it does not generate description either... So I find this extention ( at least for me ) more head ache then peace of mind.

I wonder sometime, all the positive reviews about a product, yet they don't provide link to their site, where product works!

Works very well, and looks nice on URL. Very easy to short article links. Amazing actually..

I've spent more time thinking about SEF urls for my Joomla site than I care to admit. I've used JoomSEF - which has a lot of options and sh404SEF. My conclusions after working with these is that 1)It's silly that Joomla doesn't have better SEF urls built in 2)AceSEF does things right. I don't know that they always have - maybe they've come a long way, but right now they are nailing it! It's a pleasure to use, the price is reasonable, installation and setup is quick and upgrading from the free version to the paid version is a snap. - Oh and the backup options for saving your URLs allows you to save and restore each "type" (generated sef urls, custom urls, moved urls etc). One option I would like to see would be a way to choose joomla's default sef router for components. No processing, just passing the urls off to Joomla. This should enable compatibility with MageBridge (a really cool component for tightly integrating magento and joomla). Other than that I wouldn't add or change anything - I just wish I had tried this SEF component first! I can't speak about the support JoomACE offers, I hear it's good, but I'm pleased to say that the product is so good out of the box that I've not needed to contact them. Kudos! and thanks for making my life easier!

I have been meaning to set up SEF Urls on My Joomla 1.5 website for quite some time now and I finally got around to it. I tried a couple of times to do this manually but ran into snags with the .htaccess configuration so I thought that I would try AceSEF. Brilliant! The support documentation is excellent as is the support forum for this extention. It was easy to set up following their directions, I had it up configured and running in half an hour. I tried the free version of this extension and now I am so impressed that I am going to buy the Pro version. By the way you still have to rename your htaccess.txt file to .htaccess in your Joomla root directory for this extension to work otherwise it appears as all your links are broken.

Just want to say thanks to the guys at AceJoomla for such a great extension!

I tried sh404SEF, JoomSEF and and AceSEF... AceSEF undoubtedly the best of the 3, not just visually.

but i see a problem, guess, i really like the URLs to write with .html or without .html, with or without slash at the end... as is the default joomla with mod_rewrite

AceSEF with Joomla 1.7 and Community Builder 1.7 and with other urls more, i can not do

I have used AceSEF on several websites now and have found it to be excellent in making the SEO work easier to accomplish.
I have had one support query and this was answered promptly and successfully.
I would recommedn this extension to those who need SEO work on their Joomla site.
