Smart SEO is a powerful plugin developed for Joomla Based websites. This plugin has many advantages designated to overcome problems that every SEO expert and non-expert encounters when working with Joomla! websites.
Smart SEO does not remove or edit you existing meta-tags! your current tags will be used unless you have not specified any other values for them using the plugin.
You can always go back to using them by clearing all the fields on the Smart SEO panel and clicking apply.
With Smart SEO you can edit Meta tags and title attributes for every page and component!

Added an ACL option for the plugin, allowing you to set Smart SEO Panel visibility option for a certain user access level and up!
This is great if you have someone else doing your SEO for you and you don't want them to have Super Admin access to your website.
Changes in Installation process:

please notice there are now two file in the download package.
1) unzip the package first - don't install it!
2) Select the one of the two zip file according to your Joomla version (1.5.x or 1.6.x)
3) Unzip the right zip file, and install each of the zip files found in it.
4) install each zip file from the package separately.
5) install com_smartseo.zip first
4) then install smartseo_v0.7D.X.zip

Three things I would like to see in the next version:
Counting the characters of the page title; don't count the character of the keywords, but the keyword themselves; remember the input when I close the input box (I need to close it sometimes to read the top part of the page content).

While you are on any page on your web site you can easily modify the page's title, keywords, description. This makes maintenance easy.
I also like the lights at the bottom of the Smart SEO tool which tell me if I have made a change to the SEO material through Smart SEO...or it is using default information.
Fantastic for the non-technical people.
Easy to use and effective.
Installs perfectly for J1.6 then I get this error and I cannot go any further.
404 - An error has occurred.

It is found as I just installed it and the Plugin and it still does not work. If this is in BETA it should say it is in BETA. Then I would not buy it.

If only you had watched the video or read the insturctions on how to use Smart SEO you would have known THERE IS NO COMPONENT as it is only used to update the database tables for the Plugin to use.
We're highly engaged with our users and offer support to the extant of providing nearly "custom" versions of our products to make sure everyone get their money's worth.

Over a 1000 websites (that we know of) are using Smart SEO without any problems at all.
the percentage of users having any trouble with Smart SEO is less than 1% which is outstanding for an open source product.
Changing templates is a step in finding the cause of the problem, not the solution itself.
We suggested this so we could see if the problem is caused by your template or maybe it's something else like a specific extension you have installed.
You were offered to purchasae the EXD version for direcrt support but chose not to. therefore please understand the support process might take a little longer via the forum.
We feel it's unfair to jump the gun and make unbased assumptions about our product without even looking into things and giving us a reasonable amount of time to help you.
You've sent us 4 emails in 5 minutes demanding a reply an threatening to tweet about lack of support... and doing so without understanding that our support team was replying to your email at that exact time.
we'd like to help you solve this issue, please be more patient

This plugin is extremely valuable (I would add necessary) for removing the default site description that Joomla automatically dumps on all category and section list pages. With this plugin, you can successfully eliminate "duplicate description" warnings from Google's Webmaster Tools.
For only $8.95, this is a gift: a greatly appreciated one.
I tried this on one of my website its working good. Finally a useful seo extention for Joomla. Realy cool and easy to use. Recommended!
