The Joomla! Global Configuration allows you to configure SSL, but if a visitor enters a Joomla! page through non-HTTPS, this visitor is not automatically redirected. Also you can't enable SSL for just some pages, while all other pages are served through regular HTTP.
While the Apache htaccess file can be configured to contain RewriteRules for this, it is much more complicated and error-prawn. This is the main reason why the YireoTM SSL Redirect plugin was developed.
This is a really great addition to Joomla, and a REAL must have if you want part of your site secure. So simple to activate as well. Five Stars guys... many thanks
I have self signed SSL certificate on site and wanted backend to be accessed with SSL while frontend without.
Joomla native SSL options don't work well with cache and can make your visitors in trouble due to self signed ssl (css lost). This plugin give me stable solution with mandatory ssl access to backend and mandatory non-ssl access to frontend with correct redirect.

I just setup my SSL certificate yesterday and I have to say that after finding this within 5 minutes I had the things encrypted that I needed. Great work guys.
Literally a few clicks and my new SSL certificate is up and running on selected pages.

This afternoon I needed configure some pages of one of my stores to SSL.
I thought which joomla had this capacity, BUT only for all web and I need only some pages. And I found this plugin. I download it , install it and in 5 minuts I have a ssl worked in my store.

This is absolutely a very very good plugin! The parameters of the plugin are clear and easy to set up. This plugin is not only easy to set up but it also works :-).
You can specify which components/urls should be forced to use https and which ones should not. An absolutely time saver (!) and perfect for people who do not want to mess around in the htaccess file.

I had so many wrong answers and sometimes no answers in my quest to figure out how to use the SSL on only select pages. After finally finding this extension, I installed it and it works within just a few minutes!
I literally just selected a few random pages, pressed save then tested to see if it worked. It worked without any issues that quick!

Not only was I surprised when I was able to download this plugin without paying for it (I am donating), I implemented it with ease comparable to that of "breathing". Thanks for a great plugin.

I have to admit to being no expert in intense internet stuff and I knew I needed to have SSL, but had no real idea how to control switching between the http and hhtps versions of my site. I installed this plugin, clicked on the items and components in the parameters, and that was all. It worked perfectly first time. Plugins like this a really good in that they give a lot of control and peace of mind to Joomla users who are not PHP programmers. I can't speak to the support of this plugin, because I didn't need any. Simple to use and elegant in operation. Well done!
