This is a fantastic extension, but the only drawback is the end-user is pushed to the news website itself via modal or browser window/tab which is somewhat undesirable for some webmasters. It would be really nice if the feed article links could be clicked and simply have the RSS feed content from those websites displayed directly to the webmaster's web page in an article type of layout or an expandable AJAX link to show the news article in replacement of the read more feature.
This is a good module though none the less. The above improvement options however would make this component exceptional and stand out even more so than it already does from most others.

Not only this is the only feed reader I managed to make work on joomla 2.5 it's also brilliant. Easy install easy setup. You can set your feeds up into groups and give them styles. You can set a menu item to a group of feeds which will generate a great looking page with a really neat layout with every feed under its own heading. You can do the same with a module. You could probably build a whole site with this coolfeed component to include content from other sources via rss. Very much impressed with this feed reader. Also support is great with active development.
I had tried six other RSS readers before trying Coolfeed, wish I had found Coolfeed first!
The component installed on Joomla 2.5.7 I had a small problem with my template causing a problem on the module layout but JoomAvatar admin sorted it out within a few hours (thanks again).
Coolfeed is a very versatile component, allowing group and single feeds both with good presentation. Its not often you get a great component, support and best of all FREE!

This sped up a site dramatically and looks great!
The links back to the developer on it are annoying and I don't see an easy way to disable them without editing the code, which I did. Either add an option in options to remove link back to the developer or offer a paid version without the links.
Remove the in the module at the top when the Feed Title is disabled.
If Modal is enabled perhaps the readmore should open the modal too?

Needed to make it work with my Widgetkit Lightbox and they patiently helped me all the way through it and now it´s working perfectly.
Great support, and considering that this is a free extension other developers could really learn one or two things about customer support from these guys!

This component does exactly as it says! Not a lot of bells and whistles but does the job it is supposed to do. One major advantage of other RSS readers is the fact that it does not slow down your site at all, at least I have not noticed any slowdown. I am currently importing around 60 news feeds and it works flawlessly. When opening the component feeds appear almost instantly. Support is fast and competent. I need help with a customization and had an answer within an hour. Nice Job!
The actual component is simple to integrate into your site as it uses your existing h3 and body classes from your style sheet. The actual set-up is simple enough however I felt the documentation could have been a little more conclusive. It is a shame to see no "readme.txt" yet have a "GPL". It would be perfect to see both. If this extension contained a "readme.txt" in the zip package then it would be a full 5 stars.
