I tried wgPicasa (non-commercial version) for 1.5 and was up and running in 15 minutes with a minimum of fuss. You just have to find your Picasa account ID and that is all. The options are enough for my needs. Exactly what I was looking for. There are no links or “made my” or anything else visible on the website. Very good.
wgPicasaPRO Pros:
*Installs well, and is fairly easy to use
*FAQ cover all the usual issues, and so they were solved.
*Unlike other Picasa options, it works as stated.
*Level of difficulty - low to medium - you have to have some attention to detail to get the component and the Picassa settings to match up - well covered in the FAQ documentation.
I am an experienced Joomla user, so when it did not work first time I went searching for the answers and therefore found the FAQ

This extension is said to be Non-Commercial for 1.6 version, however when you go to the site to download it, you have to pay. The version for 1.5 is non commercial and has its own Joomla extension line item. This one however cost 5 Euros. I'm not against buying extensions. I am against false advertising to draw readers.

Also the joomla 1.6 version is freel of costs and has always been free??
I would highly recommend using this extension to show off your photos from Picasa! It's very easy to use and setup. The support is also very good if you run into a problem!

This extension does what it says it does, clean and simple. I had a couple of questions during configuration and I received very quick responses through their forum. It is so great to get quick support, especially from a free extension.

I just installed wgPicasa on my website and think it is fantastic. It has allowed us to load pictures on the Picasa web site and view them from our website. We have limited space on our web server so this is a great solution.
I don't get it. The demo on the wgPicasa website works just fine in IE. But my own install of wgPicasa does not work in IE. And neither the forums nor the FAQs on the wgPicasa are extensive enough to be helpful. I was impressed initially ... easy to install, easy to use ... looks great. But breaks in IE. Disappointed.
It looks great, it loads fast, but sadly Slimbox is not working for me here, just single image opened outside website for every single image, not useful at all :-/. Maybe my template, may be some other extension in conflict... I cannot know. Tried disabling all extensions, plugins and problem is still there. Phocagallery installed. Could it be...?

This is a very nice component for displaying all Picasa albums or single albums in a page. It's flaw is that it cannot display photo caption or comments, album description, or any other text information. Customization of the front end is a little tricky and the code creates table output but the main problem is the lack of photo/album information.
EXACTLY what I was looking for. Only details needed is your username.
Only thing I'm concerned about, is that I can't find a way to hide the email being shown on the gallery. The people that browse the images see
'4 albums are present for username@gmail.com' and I'd like an option to hide that please :) Unless I've missed it? In which case, can someone show me? :)

Things you can think to add:
- CSS File (images too much together, I added some padding to it)
- Search (If I have, e.g. Sec1, Sec2, and Images link under these, I can't separate with a Albums list view, if I could search for "Sec1" then it would return albums like "Sec1 - Images XY")

- The nonsense, futile, REGISTRATION-TO-DOWNLOAD, which there are plenty ways to go around, make it god-damn-optional
