JASMIM - just another social media integration module Module

The Joomla-module JASMIM is the probably easiest way to integrate Facebook-, Twitter and Googleplusbuttons in your joomlahomepage at one go. In contrast to many other modules which provide similar features, JASMIM is completely w3c valid and does not affect site performance due to asynchronously loaded scripts.

It is compatible with Joomla 2.5 and 3.0 and includes the languages English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Korean and Japanese.
(JASMIM for Joomla 1.5 is still included in the download, but it does not contain bugfixes + additional languages)

Outstanding Advantages:

-completely w3c conform valid markup!
-all external scripts are loaded asynchronously so that there are no performance issues!
-quickmode for simple quick setup

________________________________________________________________________
Version 3.0
for Joomla 2.5, 3.0

Bugfixes:
-Fixed problem with Comment-Box of Likebuttons not showing up
-Replaced deprecated PHP functions causing warnings

Features:
-Made JASMIM working in Joomla 3.0

Known issues:
-Google +1 buttons not showing up in IE < v8
(This is obviously a problem of the G+1 buttons and not of this module!)

----------------------------- IMPORTANT HINT: -----------------------------
If Quickmode is enabled / not "No" all other options won't affect the module any more.
If you have trouble with some buttons not showing up or some options haveing no effect,
ensure that Quickmode is set to "No"!!!

W3C Valid... That's the word that caught my eye while I was looking for a module or plug-in to show social buttons.
At last, I've found one! This is exactly what I was desperately looking for. Thank you!

The first Social Media module I've downloaded that actually works without interference with css code, etc. It also is VERY easy to configure.

Note: Please remember to unzip downloaded file first and then install the free module. Support helped within an hour (thumbs up to them.)

This is the only social plugin I found without introducing html and css errors and that's why I like it. I am not a fan of those blown up codes those 'social' introduce into clean coding and I hope the rating machines (google, bing, etc.) will review their policies.
So, if you need social buttons, Jasmim is a viable option to get rid of the worst. I also had some reports of +1 not showing up on IE, but I don't care too much, I prefer a clean coding.
Taking into account that this is a first release with lots of room to improve and trying to encourage the developer, I defend my rating.

Thank you for your encouragement,

I updated the module and with the new version 2.0 the google plusonebuttons should show up in IE8.
They still won't show up in IE7 and earlier, but this is as far as i tested it an issue of the g+ buttons itself and not of the module.

I understand that this extension is brand new however there are a number of problems straight off the bat.

The Google +1 button appears fine in IE9 and Firefox but not at all in IE6, 7 or 8.

The option to set the FB Like button and Google +1 button to apply to home page URL only doesn't work at all. Regardless of settings, they always refer to the URL of the page being viewed.

Likebutton Facebook Page doesn't seem to work at all - can't get it to appear on any browser.

Twitter Follow button - same as above.

The link to the developers site in the non-commercial version is not uniform depending on the browser being used. In Firefox it appears below the buttons, in IE9 to the right (ugly). I would like to get rid of it entirely but paying $14 when so many other features don't seem to work properly or at all is too much to ask.

The look of the buttons when they do appear is nice however.

Very easy to configure and could be very nice once the bugs are ironed out.

I am sorry to hear that JASMIM doesn't work for you.

I can assure that the module has been tested in Joomla 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 in browsers IE9, Google Chrome 14, and Firefox 7, and looks same and completely works in these browsers on my system. I have no idea why you get those bugs, never seen them before.

I can only encourage other users to try the module themself (it's free, so what are you about to lose?) - normally it should work well.
You are of course welcomed to submit us the site you have tested it on, so we can take a closer look at it.

Thank you for your Feedback,
