Today I am proud to announce the release of YoFLash Version 0.7:
The biggest imrovements are:
- supports joomla 1.5,1.7 and 2.5
- supports FGD and mochimedia games
- added keyword search in backend

Very glad I found this extension. Was looking for high score enabled games that would integrate with our site's user accounts.
Found that not only did mochigames provide this, but opportunities for earning revenue.
Yoflash does a great job of integrating mochigames into Joomla!

I have used this component for 3 of my games sites,and was really easy to use, with outstanding results. With an intuitive backend interface anyone can create a powerful game site. The suport also diserve 5 stars,with quick and pertinent response.

This game component has some nice games and is easy to administer.
Cons:
In game advertisements you cannot turn off.
allow_url_fopen MUST be enabled, this is a potential security risk. Having this on opens you up to code injection vulnerabilities.

unfortunatley as you misundertood seme things here:
You can use FOPEN OR CURL!
There is no security risk in any way if you just use CURL instead of FOPEN.
The games that you put on your website don't come from the component they come from mochimedia. The component can not be responsible for the ads as it comes from mochimeda and not from the component itself. If you want to turn off advertisments in the game, than this is betwen you and Mochimedia (and has nothing todo with the component). You should contact mochi! This component serves as a kind of bridge between mochi and joomla.

Great component that makes making flash games websites a breeze! It's continuing development and it's growing community of supporters and plugins/modules makes this IMHO, THE component for flash game websites.
Setup was fast and simple. Period. Surf in the backend for games you like and publish them. It's that easy! The autopost feature makes adding games so easy that it makes me wonder why I spent so much time adding games before.
I had a question for the developer and within minutes I had an answer! How's that for support?

Absolutely amazing!
Instead of taking half an hour to download and post about 15 games on my site, I can now post a hundred in just under 5 minutes!
One recommendation that would make this extension amazing though, if there was a search feature (maybe modifity the existing Joomla one?) so that users can search for the games posted in case they want to find a game that they played and like.

Well, what can I say, except that this is an awesome extension. Setting up the component can be a bit distracting, but once you follow the instructions from the developers website it just works.
Games can be added easily without having much knowledge about flashfiles and on the dev-website there are also some extension and add-ons for free download.

The component is very easy to install and the setting up of the AutoPost feature is very simple do to if you follow the straight-forward instructions available.
The layout of the game page is pretty standard but extremely customisable to suit your own personal tastes with simple ON/OFF options for a large majority of what is viewable in the frontend. The inclusion of "Related Games" is a worthwhile addition that even the successful PUArcade doesnt offer.
The whole component doesnt over complicate anything either, it is clear that the developer has thought long and hard about making it simple but highly customisable without the need to expect a beginner to understand any complex code. For a complete novice, it really is pretty much plug n play, while there is more than enough options available to allow experienced developers to customise it to a much greater experience.
The biggest and best feature in my eyes is the AutoPost feature which allows you to view, edit and install any of the 19,000 Mochi Games with two clicks of a mouse button. The operation is simple, can be done from your Admin Panel without visiting MochiMedia, is already preloaded for the game to enter the correct categories with tags and descriptions already submitted (but can all be edited if you wish) and a single click of the Install button followed by a single click of the Save button to confirm the details are correct and you have upload your first of many games.
The process is much better than most other scripts that can be time consuming or require an understanding of swf files, etc. With this installer I can very easily add 100+ games an hour to my site. And if that wasnt easy enough, the developers have added lots of filters so that if you dont want to add every game, but just add particular categories, you can filter the games available for installation.
Having spent approximately 9 months adding 1,700 games to my PUArcade script..... I then converted to Yo Flash and its incredible installer and managed to add 800 games in just 2 days!
I wont say Yo Flash has every feature of other arcade scripts... at the time of writing this it is lacking a Favourites feature, but it does have all the tools available to instantly put it up there with some of the best scripts available plus it has a few other features "out-of-the-box" that other better scripts (even paid scripts) dont offer yet.
The fact that this script is a free script just makes it even better and I would seriously recommend anyone wanting to add an arcade section to their Joomla site (or even just set up an arcade site) gives this a try and see how simple it is, then maybe compare it to a few other scripts. I think you will find you will prefer the simple, easy to use and customisable features this one offers. And with more development time and more new features from the development team behind it I think that Yo Flash's Mochigames Component will be leading the pack as the best gaming component available!
