Thanks again. Exactly what I miss.
If I may give some idea to improve:
- perhaps paople would like to follow via RSS someone's articles
- move option (can be solved by copy and delete the original one)

Fulfills the mission, thank you!

This is so close to perfect, very easy to install and Easy to use!

1.Needs The Ability to filter on load to one category or section so you can setup buttons saying edit news, edit testimonials etc.

2. Also Needs The Ability to Just Filter out on load Uncategorised so only articles assigned to sections and categories are shown.

3.Plus needs the ability to set the display amount to all on load or another amount on load too!

4.Trash Items should be at the bottom in there own table below the untrashed articles so not to be as confusing.

Once these things have been implemented it will be perfect!

This component does exactly what it says and is very easy to setup, I had it up and going like I wanted to in less than two minutes. It should more or less be built into the Joomla core.

The only thing I'm missing when it comes to frontend article editing for Joomla 1.5 is a way to control which categories the authors can add articles to.

I know a better ACL is built into Joomla 1.6+ already but this extentsion is not supported for 1.6+ yet and I wish you could at least have the option at the menu item for this extension to select one specific category where the new articles go, and that you could disable the section/category buttons.

Without that, careless frontend users could easily wreak havoc on the site, publishing articles on the frontend and so on.

Because of this I will only give it 4/5 stars instead of a perfect score.

I like it's simplicity.
It does exactly what a front-end user needs!!!!
Just waiting for a 1.6! version.

Functionality wise this extension is perfect to allow Authors access to their articles from the frontend, even the unpublished ones. Setting it up is easy.

My only and minor criticism is the UI, needs a little attention both for the admin and the frontend. But as this is a beta version I expect getting it working right is the priority.

I have used this on several J1.5 sites - Its on my list of standard extensions to use, Great work and makes article management very easy for the end user. Looking for a J1.6 version

It's just what I was looking for. A very useful component to allow user managing their content without back-end permissions.
I would like to be informed on future implementations.
Thanks

A very well done and very helpful extension !
It would be great to upgradeit for Joomla 1.6.
It would be nice to add the ability to Check items to view featured.

Just one thing I would like to add to the wishlist. The ability to choose which group that can publish - including the "normal" registered users(registered users get author rights automatical). That way this extension could be used for wikis, writer sites; general collaboration of information, etc., etc. There is a use for everything.

Does just what it says allows users to edit the database as if they were logged into the back end. This is fantastic for a site where you don't want users to have back end access.

The component uses most of the width of the screen so certain meus can make it look too compressed stick with horizontal menus and it works perfectly

This is a great Component, but there aren't any docs. Once I found this in the post below, it was simple as it gets.

"To set it up, simply create a menu item for the component."

Author - please add this to your instructions inside the component.

Thanks,
Erok

This is a great little component which will be vital for anyone setting up an Author > Editor > Publisher workflow.

It would be AWESOME if in future versions ARCHIVED articles could be supressed from the list, possibly by a switch in the backend.

Used in conjunction with a front-end editing/submission pane, this component offers Author-only contributors to create, manage, delete their body of work, without going to a more full-blown solution like K2.

This front page editor takes over from the MyContent article editor in Joomla 1.0. It is very useful extension in fact it should be part of core Joomla. The last comment from jp_world can be safely ignored, he clearly does not know what he's talking about. ACL's are not a part of Joomla 1.5 and the ability to clamp down on who can do what to whose article will not be present until Joomla 1.6.
This is a good extension, download it

This component comes in very handy when you need a searchable overview of all articles in your site from the frontend. I appreciate it a lot.

As the list of articles gets longer however, I bump into the same glitch in the 2.0 version as reported by another user: going back through the page numbers on the bottom of the list (prev and first button do not bring you back to the first list of pages). Experimenting with cache and switching modules and plugins off do not change this behaviour.

A very nice little article manager for the frontend. Very well made! This is one of those components I would have build into joomla. Thanks for making this component.

This seems to be one of the best component i have used, it contains all that is required, very friendly accessing , it has been developed the way it should be because it is just like the backend usage ,u can edit , copy , delete, unpublish , etc etc as a whole it has to be appreciated.

good work............

I always find it amazing what people have created, and the way they just work out of the box. In my case, I needed something to allow users to maintain all their content, and this fits the bill perfectly.

Registered users cannot access the component, and it provides all the functionality needed for my users in a clear and easy to understand format.

I really can't think of any extra functionality my users could need, so 5 stars!

This is a brilliant component. But it is developed from a programmers point of view and not a website owners point of view. running websites is an extremely serious business. Registered users should be able to contribute but not have any control over content.

Hence I have the following suggestions:

1. There should be a function to limit section and category to which articles can be submitted e.g. I run a community site in which nothing gets published without editors reading the content. Quality of content can make or break a site. Hence it would be useful if all the articles got submitted to a say - New Articles/ New Articles section/category. The editors can then access New Articles/ New Articles to read all new articles, approve them and publish them in the right sec/ cat combo.

2. All controls like publish date/ unpublish date/ meta's/ access levels should be disabled. This is something editors/ administrators should decide and not a front end user.

Overall excellent idea and component. Few more controls will really make the difference between good and great.

Regards

Royko
