Quick Jump Module

Editor's Note
  • This extension requires registration to download.
This module will show a Select List (Combobox, Dropdown) menu. That contains all the Sub-menu items from a menu choosen. I used it as a Quick Jump in a 3 level menu example:
1- Business Segment
2- Company Name
2a- Company profile
2b- Company history
2c- Company Contact us
This Module will list all company names in a Select list for faster Access, Because there is too many and you will get lost in the menu structure.

I needed this module for my web site.
I couldn't really find a contact form for support when needed it.
I need it to have 2 drop downs like this on my web site in separate pages.
But when I tried to have 2 modules , then things started to be messy - the menu jumping from 1 menu to the other making the jump menu jumping to the wrong menu...

Work's as stated. It required very little effort to get it going. The only negative is that you only can have one per page. In my case, I was trying to use it to create two menus so that my users could select a specific month of articles - one for active and one for archived.

2 minutes to download, install and setup. The height of the box was set too low (18px) but a quick search in the helper.php and I upped it to 24px. Consider adding some editable params in the module but no biggie.

I have over 30 menus in my site and my main menu is made up of menu links to the top of each separate menu. the quick jump does a 404 for every menu link item, but works on articles only. Very poor figuring. This shouldn't matter what the link is or where it goes.

I managed to alter the product slightly by adding a perent ID and a styling option to the tool.

It would be great the owner of the module could implement that changes into a new version.

Just to let you know as it is not updated Walid has put a Joomla 1.5 version of the Quick Jump Menu on the site. However the problem reported still persists (the level-0 menu items still do not appear. Only the menu-items that are sub-menus will work) Naturally you can get round this by putting all your menu items as level-1 but IMO this is a flaw.

otherwise this module works ok.

It's cool...but you can only have one per page...who needs only 1 per page? It would be a fantastic module if that little item were fixed...as the one per page does work well...it's just not enough to only have one.

First time I've been really motivated to comment on this or any other clever little ditty I have come across on my internet travels. THis takes the 'HURT' out of manually configuring a Drop Down Menu!!!

Outstanding job. Where can I send some money?

Hello Grizz, thanks for the warm comment, to donate please visit http://nehmewalid.com where you can send the money.

Unintuitive interface. It did generate a drop down menu, but it generated the menu as a select menu. Perhaps it is capable of generating drop-down menus like those on Walid's website, but I could not figure out how to do so.

This module solved a year long problem which I've had with setting up one of my clients' websites. Walid himself is also a very helpful person. Thumbs up!

This only works if you choose a menu that has submenus. It would be nice if this could be fixed. What if you don't want/need submenus?

I have put off adding drop down menus because they can be such a pain. However this mod makes it a breeze!

I do have a question though the scroll arrow is blue, and does not match my site. www.dremadesigns.com what do I need to add to the php file for this mod to change the color?
