Superfish Dropdown Menu

Suckerfish-style menu jQuery plugin
that takes an existing pure CSS
drop-down menu (so it degrades
gracefully without JavaScript) and adds
many features."
I took Superfish and combined it with a
menu module to easily create and
manipulate dropdown menus. Comes with
many configuration options such as
shadows, arrows, vertical menu,
horizontal menu, navbar menu, iframe
for IE6 use, fade in, slide in, fade
and slide in, opacity, intelligent
mouseover handling, and more.

Disclaimer:
If you plan on using this module, you should be comfortable editing css. It would also help to be familiar with Superfish, but not required. This module simply combines superfish with the main menu and automates the setup configuration. It is intended for developers who know their way around code. If you are a novice and need a highly customized look to the menu, this one may not be for you.
I will no longer be offering support for this module. 99.9% of the issues are css related and are site-specific and unrelated to the actual inner workings of the module. Unfortunately I do not have the time or financial resources to offer constant support. If you have problems, your template css is probably overriding your superfish css.
When I try to run a second copy of the module, there seem to be problems interacting with the first one, but I have done no investigating of this so far as (currently) one module is okay for me.
Now I am going to snoop around "playing" with the CSS but I did not need to do this to make it work and the existing colour scheme is close to what I want anyway.
Well done and thanks!
Dave
The so-called Plugin is an assortment of files with no explanation of what to do with them or where to put them. I am not a stupid person, so I'm offended that this is presented as EASY when there's no real documentation for it. You MUST have background experience with Suckerfish in order to "Get it."
This is a module... you install it... via the install screen in your Joomla administration. You simply point the installer to the zip file, Joomla does the rest.
You set the menu up just the same as you would a normal menu, via the Module Manager. As for styling the menu beyond what is presented in the module screen, yes, you do need to have experience with CSS. Experience with Superfish/Suckerfish is helpful but not required.
I am more than happy to help anyone with questions or problems they may have; all they need do is ask (via the support forum or email).
I thank you for your comment and have placed a disclaimer in the module description.
This most likely has to do with a css value of overflow:hidden; Please send me a link to your site and I will do my best to help out.
I did have one issue though. When I created a Separator the style disappeared when using Horizontal option in this menu. I did however manage to fix it with little effort. Some other people have had this issue so I made a post on my site about it here. If the developer would like to take a look and maybe update that would be great.
However, have found that Separator menu elements are no displayed in Horizontal mode; vertical and accordion modes, no problem (althought nested Separator elements don't seem to work either in Accordion mode).
Can anyone help please?
Thanks!
This is fixed in version 1.1
I would like to turn off the opaqueness of the submenus but there is no clue as to how to do so. There is a var called "opacity" which is set to "show" by default. What other options are there instead of "show"???
Other than that, this looks like a really nice, clean bit of work.
opacity can be show, hide, toggle, or a value from 0.0 to 1.0
I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking to quickly add a customizable drop down menu to their websites.
Now it safes a lot of effort to create a working fancy menue. Even for beginners it is now possible to use the fish :D
Great work! I am loocking forward for the next releases...
Then JQuery for the rescue. First I took this superfish with my joomla menu, and it worked, but without arrows or shadows.
And now this nice fella made the complete module for it. So everything works great!
The best superfish solution at the moment :)
