Great extension, best Mootools dropdown yet!

Got an issue as menu items went behind an slideshow image. Easily fixed by increasing the z-index of the DIV containing the menu module. Did no hacks to menu CSS!

Keep the good work and let us have more config options in the parameters

Quiet good menu. Works in all mayor browsers incl. IE6 with some knowledge of CSS. The only problem is the lack of parameters. It is not possible to set start and end level like normal Joomla mainmenu is offering. Here is a quick fix to set start- and end level of menu rendering:

- Open helper.php in modules/mod_hxdmoomenu
- edit Line 60 to...

$module->params= "menutype=$menu_name\nshowAllChildren=1\ntag_id=$tag_id\nstartLevel=0\nendLevel=2";

...change "startLevel" and "endLevel" to your needs. You can add any parameter of mod_mainmenu...

Disappointing. Drop down doesn't work in IE7 or Safari. Installed easily, and initial question was answered quickly. However, it was clear the initial answer only provided an avenue to express the developers charges and willingness to build the site for you. If you're interested in quick success in all browsers...look elsewhere.

If you want to use mootools for a menu module. This one is perfect! Well written, simple and lightweight. What more could you ask for?

Great job.

Thanks for this module, which I found refreshingly straightforward and bug-and-conflict free.

This is a really easy to use module that put my menus EXACTLY where I wanted them. Using JA_Purity template, I put the component in the "hornav" position, but imagine my surprise when I signed in as registered user and found all my "left" menus at the top! Not something I wanted, but actually not a problem. Only one thing I'd like to be able to see... ability to choose background color, although the one that's there is not too obtrusive.

Thanks for a nice tool.

I'm new to Joomla and have trouble getting much past the login page and writing a few articles! All I can say is that this is one of the few modules that I've managed to download, find in the backend and then actually get it on my crude website. Great job guys.. and perhaps other developers can also just add some really simple instructions like the one done for this module. Something simple like where to find the module/component/plugin once it's been downloaded and then how to actually get it running (i.e., give one or two examples - how to get it on one of the web pages). For example, I've had a few instances d/l templates and components where I've downloaded the thing, can see it in the list of module manager or components, etc but then haven't been able to actually get them onto my website. I just don't know how to operate them..how to "switch them on" so to speak... so cheers guys.. nice and simple does it for some of us... :-)

This module requires alterations to make it compatible with all browsers, but not much. It is definitely better than anything else I tried.

Fixes:
Set you Z-Index to a high number on the li li styles. This way it drops-down above everything else.

Also, if you use flash, add the param:
this will fix the problem of the drop-down going behind flash.

For the folks complaining about ie6, if folks still use ie6, too bad. You should install a script informing them to upgrade. You can't cater to everyone. ie6 needs to be put to bed. the ie7 issues are easy CSS fixes.

Thank you for a good mootools menu module. If I make significant improvements to your module I will submit them to you (or post them in the JED if I don't hear back).

I needed something quick to install that would be easy to customise. Someone recommended this one in the forum. Worked like a dream.

No bugs when I used it in FF when I used it. Works in IE8 without compatibly mode.

It places the tag in the Template automatically.

Your own css classes can be assigned to it but that is an optional extra. The text and background colours can easily be changed in it own css file if needed.

No need to add menu links to it, just enable to the position and point it at your chosen menu.

With two simple settings it works straight out of the box.

I tested it on several Templates and found issues with style and display are Template based and not the module itself !!!

This menu works directly after installation. Customizing can be done by css file very easy.

Thank you for this module!

I'm not sure why people always give rave reviews, they obviously aren't being objective about it. Being an average joomla user and php coder heres what I found:

Pros
- easy to install
- small mod, compact
- free

Cons
- Lack of features
- FF css bug. Submenus fall behind images on site
- Code experience a must
- lack of documentation
- No support forum
- Submitted requests for help and recieved no response

The mod is very good, but it more usefull when you side menu than top menu, I have no clue how to edit the css to make it look like sukerfish menu style.

Also it says override CSS to have more than one menu, may be thats not easy for newbies and it does require a bit of coding skills to use the menu to the fullest advantage.

I am still testing it and hence keeping it visible only for registered users adn not for guests, I see the Admin of the mod has replied on the previous post that he will do the documention more user friendly to guide newbies.

Thanks for the extension, but we need more help, specially on how to override css, and to have button like menu style at the top for more than one menu.
