Content Categories - Category module
There are already several different categories modules out there, in fact there is at least one that could be mistaken for this one.
So what is the difference?
This module is coded exactly as the sections module, no difference at all. That means that this module has the "Template overrides" possibility which the other modules are missing. It also has the feature to show an article counter beside the category link.
Features;
* Copy of Joomla!s section module
* Fully compatible with Joomla! 1.5 template overrides
* Show categories from specific section
* Show article counter for each category

Please note, there are no further upgrades planned, this module is released as is and there will be no more feature added to THIS module. Other modules might be released as well, please send feature requests to the appropriate email found on hussfelt.net.
Thank you!
Hello gimpiel!
This was a minor bug in 1.5.1, I got an email from another user noting me on that issue as well.
I have fixed it in the current and hopefully FINAL version 1.5.2.
Thank you for using the module!
I throughly recommend this Category Module and thank Henrik for developing it.
Hello David!
Thanks for the nice rating.
Regarding that it does not show categories without articles, this is because it is a clone of a core feature in Joomla (Section module).
This module was not meant to have any extra features at all... :)
Anyhow, I might consider a branch in the SVN-repo at a later time.
Thanks!
It works very reliably, no bugs, and a big advantage of this module for me is that you can apply a Module Class Suffix - for better styling. There's also an article counter.
But more than that, the developer Henrik is incredibly helpful. I had problems with Joomla! 1.5.9 aliases when Search Engine Friendly URLs were enabled. When I reported a possible bug (if anything it's bug in Joomla! 1.5.9), Henrik set my site up for me and gave me lots of advice too.
Highly recommended! Many thanks Henrik.
Thank you very much!
To clarify what the issue was:
openijl used this module without having an alias created for the specific category (like a menu link, or hidden menu link).
This caused the "ContentHelperRoute::getCategoryRoute()" function to output links not leading to the correct category, actually not leading anywhere at all as long as you where not in a menu-item related to the actuall category.
This is a pretty complex issue and most users will never experience anything like this.
I use SH404SEF myself with the category module, and it works very well!
Best regards / Henrik
