This is awesome! I followed the video at CMS Teachings and got it set up very quickly. It did not pick up submenus, so I created a new menu for all categories and added it. Google and Bing both seem to like it. I can't believe I won't have to deal with sitemaps anymore!
I am using the Xmap extension in Joomla 1.6.3, everything goes well till I submit the site map to Google webmaster tools, I get the following message "Invalid XML tag" This tag was not recognized. Please fix it and resubmit. I will like to use the extension but i cant figure out what is wrong on the generated sitemap, some one knows how to fix this problem? thank you!
Have been using Xmap for several years now and didn't like it that much at first, then I learned how to use it. Now the XML and HTML sitemaps are looking better and simpler to setup.

I used an older version Xmap of the previous versions of Joomla and it was all right, but the new version on Joomla 2.5 and Kunena forums, this component is a true duplicate URLs. Well we know that this is one of the worst things in SEO websites. Sorry for bad English :)
This extension is great! Thank you!. I really love how easily you can edit what is in the sitemap. That way you can exclude items. All and all this has really saved me time and helped make sure my google sitemap is always up to day.

Ver 2.2.1 works fine with the latest Joomla 2.5.3. Maybe not so obvious but in J2.5 you have to create a sitemap using (New icon) first.
I have been using this extension for 4 months now and it constantly turns into a 404 on it's own for no apparent reason. I can't tell you how many times it just disappears from google and I have to go to my backend and click the XML link to refresh it and then resubmit to google.
"We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit." I am beginning to think it just doesn't work at all with bing because my site map has been pending since December.

This component rocks! I used previous version and was pretty happy with J1.5, but now it got even better. No problems with installation, easy to use (deid not have to read manual or anything). I just say BIG THANK YOU to the authors! Great Job!
This extension does work exactly as advertised on 1.7, you just have to set it up properly. As others have pointed out, you have to enable some of the plugins that come with it--the other step that some might be missing is,even if you only have one menu, you have to select the checkbox next to its name in the configuration in order to have it work. When I first installed it, it was not generating a site map, but after I went back to the configuration and checked the checkbox, it worked perfectly. Entire setup (even with my missing this step at first) took less than 10 minutes.
No HTML page is produced. White screen. Using latest 2.2
Waste of valuable time, and the component that used to work and be so valuable, is now ruined for me. Will find another solution for the Joomla sites I build in the future. Do not install this if you have Joomla 1.7

This is definitely a very useful extension. Works perfectly and the documentation is flawless. Everybody should use this!
