Judging from the description of this plug-in it is a great extension offering just the functionality I am looking for. A great review on this site lead to me downloading it and giving it a try, but that made it only a bigger deception when I simply could get it to do what it says 'on the tin'.
The instructions (a 5 line readme.txt)are simply way too limited to be even the slightest bit useful. Now that in itself would not even be a showstopper if only you get some support via the listed site. But on the site the developer continuely states that he is no longer able to devote the necessary time to rectify documentation issues and is no longer active in the Joomla community. Furthermore he cites that it "is the beauty of open source" that mods which are released under the GPL can be contributed to by those who "are unhappy with the documentation but have worked it out" by adding comprehensive documentation.
As it seems like a good extension that performs well if you have the programming know-how to understand how to implement the module without proper instructions by analysing its code, I would consider it again once there is comprehensive documentation available... For now I would not recommend using it...

Does the job very well. Initially I thought it didn't work, but it was only because the default settings tend to make the font render outside the box, try setting Yoffset to 20!
I chose this over my own Flash based dynamic solution because flash just doesn't render as nice (weird eh) and I don't really want to use Flash when an image will do the job. Also copy-paste might work better if when using an image if it has an alt tag.
Some of the problems, sometimes Alt tag is empty (usually) but small hack fixes that.
Some modules change the title in a non-standard way, Virtuemart really messes up with this, it will cache the first heading and keep that - being the same cached filename as the homepage this can be bad because you will see the Homepage heading as "some product name" if the visitor came to your site via a product.
Dynamic article title names work fine, so I think this can be fixed.
