I installed this plugin and launch my IE6, and a window appears on top left corner, but I couldn't read the message and could see only 2 icons cause only a quater right bottom appears... So I went on the script and hack it to have a better view (step by step, I get it by replacing "-" by"+" in ((_width+_ddw)/2)+"px" and ((_height+_ddh)/2)+"px") ...
Next time, add params to enable or not, the navigator you want to suggest to visitors...no need IE anymore, even, latest version !

Hassle free installation. Started to work immediately and it shows a nicely designed message that automatically translates in a range of languages. I tested quite a few extensions of that nature and this one is the best I found.
keep up the good work!

This is great, works well apart from one problem.

My template is based on 'Atomic' - There is a problem with the Atomic preinstalled template (and mine ...) which causes the warning message to fail when viewed in ie6 - ie7 is fine.

I'd happy fix this if i new how ... sorry if i've posted a support-type question here. I haven't found a working forum for this extension anywhere else?

Nice looking plugin. Now we can forget about IE6 users and give them opportunity to upgrade their browser to newer or better one.

Good one
But the "i'll check this later" button doesn't work nor on IE6 neither IE7 and the IE warning appears again while cookies enabled too

Very simple to download, install and enable. But it did not work with the template I am using. The message ends up under my logo.. Sad about this - as I really like the idea of this extension.

If you setup to display a warning in IE 6 ans 7 and you test it on IE8 you´ll get the same warning. Please if someone knows how to solve this, I am grateful.

This extension is excellent and easy to use. I had it set up in a matter of minutes. The only problem I seem to encounter is that the button that allows you to continue does not seem to work. I have selected the option 'Allow continue' and the button shows up but when clicking it, the page seems to refresh and the same pop-up shows again.

Very easy to install. A lot of languages. It works perfectly and looks spectacular. If you have problems with IE6 on your site this is the solution.

Hello,

I downloaded and installed succesfully the plugin but I don't get the message suppopsed to propose browser alternatives.

Note: IE6 sucks option works redirecting each time to a different browser but I don't want that so users don't understand what's happening.

Please it is critic for me because I am sending a demo site to different clients and I am sure that some of them will use IE6.

Thanks for a quick tip to solve this

Regards
Owner's reply

Only IE6 browser can view the message.

The IE sucks mode is a special mode that automatically redirect (without message) all IE6 browser to a random browser download page.

If you want view the messages in IE6 without redirection disable IE6 sucks mode.

This is an absolute must for any website that I build from now on. I just finally couldn't take it any more with making browser hacks for IE6 all of the time. It has gotten to the point where if you use floats and padding nothing can line up correctly. So I started searching and found this little gem of a plugin. I installed it, activated it and then changed the text in the ini file to fit my likings and update the browser versions. This thing is great right out of the box.

Thank you so much for this contribution. It is a true life safer. 5/5 all the way. Great Job.

This plugin is wonderful, good work! And most importantly, it actually displays correctly in IE6 :P

@viczzz - I'm not sure if you ever found out how to change the message, but if you navigate to: administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.plg_system_iewarning.ini you will find all of the editable content.

In my case, I changed CONTINUEATMYRISK to "I understand the website might not work perfectly, let me view it anyway." and then updated all the browser versions to be more current.

Hope that helps.

Hi!

Thanks, this extension is great!

But I have a problem, if user come to my site via Google and click one of this pictures.. the user will be sent to the browsers' download page and will not remember the URL of my site. So the dowload pages of browsers should open in a new window.

Excellent plugin.

IE6 warnings should be on every site, to encourage users to upgrade.

This plugin does the job perfectly.

It's good plugin, but when users see this message- "Ok, i want to continue to my own risk!" they can run away from web page. Is it possible to edit this message?

This extension is a fantastic way to site developers make activism against the IE6, and does exactly what it intends to do: warning the visitors to change or update the browser.
