HTML Map Manager 2 ComponentModulePlugin

Editor's Note
  • This extension requires registration to download.
HTML Map Manager 2 builds on a previous 1.5 native extension released by Christophe Demko, allowing you to create hotlink areas on images (clickable areas) and link to a Joomla! menu item. It also takes care of the code for hover, mousein/mouseout actions.

Planned developments for 2012 include:

* Adding the ability to import a .map file from graphics software
* Adding a live image-map tool to allow users to select their 'hot spot' areas 'on the fly' within the back end of Joomla!

I have used HTML Map and HTML Map2 on several sites and it really is powerful and adds functionality that can set your site apart. Like all extensions of this caliber, there are usually a few things to learn to make it work to its fullest potential. But it is completely worth the initial cost and learning. For a simple application it is plug-and-play. The tech support I received (several times for different projects) from Ruth at Virya Technologies has been second to none.

Used the previous version of HTML map with great pleasure. This version for Joomla! 1.6/1.7 was just in time for me. Support from the developer was quick and helpfull. Even got a email a week after downloaded the extension; if installation was successful. Good aftersales. Thank you.

I have previously used the free extension developed by Christophe Demko while on Joomla 1.5.x. This time however I needed to create a html image map for a new project on Joomla 1.7, and therefore had to look elsewhere for the solution.

I tried a few different paths, and wasted 3.4 hours without success before I landed on this extension. After registering on the developers site and paying for the software through Paypal, I initially ran into a couple of small problems. A quick email to the developer followed by a impressive response, I was again on my way to success. I had created my images for use in my imagemap previously so I now had to simply upload these to the specific folder and within 10 minutes I had it all configured and working.

This is definitely an extension I will use for most of my projects going forward.

All the best to the developer. Keep up the excellent work.
