Advanced Module Manager is an extension that changes the way your Module manager works.
It adds a multitude of functions, like:
* See what modules are active for the menu item you are editing
* Edit modules in modal popup windows
* Option to not show modules that have no output (handy for things like dynamic menus)
* Option to show modules on all pages, except the selected menu items (reverse functionality of normal selection)
* Many other publishing assignments for your modules! You can control publishing modules by (ALL / ANY):
o Menu Item
o Homepage
o Articles
o Sections / Categories
o Components
o URL
o Date
o User Group Levels
o Languages
o Templates
o ...and more...
* You can also choose to mirror the assignment settings of another module!

This is one of the best Joomla Extensions out there. ... I mean that!
This is the best extension I've downloaded so far!!!! Was incredibly stuck on module assignment in the standard module manager, and had a serious headache.
This extension solved it with a handful of clicks.

does what I've been asking from joomla for the last 2 years. it amazes me that someone on the outside had to make it , but so glad you did.
This extension is such a great addition to Joomla! The quality of the code and ease of use is obvious. Like the previous commenter said, this guy should be on the core team. I usually don't post reviews, but this component is extraordinary. Thank you for making this free.
Ooooo man, this extension saved my life.
How many times was i forced to completely change layout because of this problem with modules showing/not showing somwhere. Hours of work, adjust widths, etc....

ohhh god that's awesome. firstly, i want to write a review for an extension of joomla, and this is for you :)
if you put the advanced options to bottom of module page, design of page will be more better ;)

In the new version I will move the options to the parameter slide tabs on the right. Thanks for the tip.

Also, making my own stuff gives me the freedom to do it how I want... and I enjoy that.

Good news! The results on the Barbados thing won't be in next month!
Just what the doctor ordered! Extremely easy to install and use. My dilemma started with using a module that was for a photo gallery component. I only wanted the module displayed while viewing pages within the photo gallery. Needless to say trying to create a menu item for each page in a dynamically driven photo album would be nearly impossible, let alone a huge administrative undertaking. After installing Advanced Module Manager it was all too easy to publish the module only to the photo album component. Awesome job Peter! Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing!
Often we all find some free extension which would have to be included in the core installation of Joomla! This is one of them. It makes simpler show and hide components in various section/categories. Combined with metamod it makes Joomla very flexible.

I am in contact with Stephen Brandon (from MetaMod) to see how we can make Advanced Modules and MetaMod more compatible.
Just downloaded and tried it on a site.
Its simple to use - eg set dates when a module can be activated and deactivated , linking sections with modules etc .
This is indeed a very useful extension.
Hope the developer can keep on improving this extension ( eg exclude users from certain countries ,module to appear when user searches a certain keyword etc )
