I am a beginner with joomla and yet I was able to install it easily and it works perfecly well.
It makes it easy to customise the background of your site with an image.
I contacted the helpdesk and got quick and professional answers. What I needed to know was whether the background can be attached to the site - while at present it is fixed while the site scrolls over it. This is the only thing that the programme does not do. But if you are looking for a scrolling site, this is gresat.

I was impulsive while experimenting at night, so I bought the paid version after testing the free version for half an hour to my satisfaction.
Installation and configuration can be done without having to read the manual extensively. Works right out of the box. Paid version overwrites the free version without any problems.
As 1 commenter said though, most people use the background of a website to scroll on with their mousewheel to get up or down a page. This doesn't work with mmbackground (free/paid)in Internet Explorer. It DOES work in Firefox and Safari, so it must be some bug that can be overcome!
There are only 10 fields available in the paid version for setting specific background for specific itemid's (menu's) or specific times (night/day).
I have more than hundred menu items, so it would be good if one background picture could be assigned to more than one itemid, which could be divided by comma in the existing field.

We were looking for a tool to change backgrounds on menu items. mmBackgrounds does that the easy way.
The free version is some what limited. Buying this tool gives you much more great options.
In our opinion the number of menu items was too limited, we needed more. One e-mail to the support desk was enough to solve that issue. Great support and help guys!

I think this does exactly what they say it does and it was easy for me, a not so adept programmer, to simply upload the image and call it in a parameter field for the plugin and it worked.
The only drawback is that 90 percent of website need their background to scroll with the content and this DOES NOT allow it in the paid or free version.
