I guess this plugin could be good but i will never know because I ran into a problem and sent them 3 emails and never heard back from them. Now here comes the kicker - I am a paid subscriber to their site, you would think I might get a bit better service from them. I would stay away fron anything on their site (template plaza)
Back to the extension, In theory it looks very nifty and smimple but again I I cant make it past a simple problem

It does what it says, but...
- you must redo the CSS for your menus, because JooTabs will mess things up;
- you cannot have two JoomTabs on the same page.
Apart from those (minor) inconvinenses it is very simple and straightforward

I am using this to display before and after images and descriptions on a clients site. It works great - I especially like the option to have tabs change automatically. Thank You so much for this module!

Jootabs works GREAT!! This is an awesome extension, it has lots of potential. The developers have a very active template site so I don't think they're abandoned it. This has been a popular extension for a long time so it probably doesn't need much babysitting.
JooTabs has 8 styles included, plus you can use module suffix to style it the way you want. Very configurable and stylable.
Most of the setup is self explanatory but I thought the module setup was a little confusing. So, here is my setup as an example. To set up Jootabs with 2 tabs for Photos:
Title of the 1st Tab: LATEST PHOTOS
Module of the 1st Tab: jooposition1
Title of the 2nd Tab: RANDOM PHOTOS
Module of the 2nd Tab: jooposition2
The jooposition1 and jooposition2 should be on your XML file, but not on your template or in an article or anywhere. You only want to position Jootabs. Jootabs will then position everything else for you.
Then, JooTabs needs it's own position on the XML file AND on your template or article or however you want to publish it.
Once you've got that sorted out, then, make sure that all modules are enabled. Very easy. The only problem is the lack of documentation: it's easy if there's a little bit of instruction.

You are going to need to rewrite some of the CSS to get the extension to work with a template that uses suckerfish menus.
Also I have not been able to get the component to display any modules under J 1.5 sure it works for J 1.0 however they promise it does with J 1.5.
It appears that the project has been abandoned by the authors however they will host it for download, the forum contains very very little information.
I would rate this module for ADVANCED joomla users only!

Great module. Easy, lightweight. Some suggestions for the developer:
1) Change the main div class name from 'menu' to something else. Its easy to conflict with some stylesheets
2) use display:none in all of the div positions except the first position. This avoids all the modules displaying on the page until the page has loaded. Can be quite messy, especially with 10 modules published.
Thanks, you made my site look classy with your better than most styles for components like this.

I tested this module on Joomla! 1.0.15 today. It is very easy to use and support up to 10 modules. I also see the mouseover-change effects. Fabulous! But I did not see the automated change effect, though the backend has this parameter.
If it is a bug, please fix it. I also suggest to support up to 15 modules, maybe someone need more tabs. Thanks to the author.

This worked perfectly for me in J 1.0. Setup was easy and everything just worked without a hitch.
The J 1.5 version is buggy. I just can't use it. If I select only 2 tabs, it appears to insert tabs in the jootabs position in my index file plus, in my case, in every position that has user2 (or the second TAB position)!
Not only that my menu formatting is screwed up by apparent conflicts with the jootabs style.css I'm using. Some of the jootabs styling appears in my menu, but only for the selected menu items I nominated in the jootab options panel.

I like the module but on joomla 1.xx You can't place 2 instances of the program on the same page, the modules some how link together, even though you can change the tab id in the module.
When you point the mouse at one jootabs TAB's the other changes as well.
The modules are in different positions as well and still dosen't work.
If they would fix this it would be great!

Good! One of the bests of this type.
byJadzia on May 19, 2008
Excellent except for messing up the main menu style sheet.

Works as advertised - just be sure that you set the modules to not show the title. Don't waste your time with any other tab components. I tried them all until i found this little gem.

Works like a charm for me...
Do exactly what i need...
Any new version in plans?

Good idea, if it worked as advertised.
Poor/no instructions to get modules to display. Needed to refer to form to get ANY information in this area.
Looks like you need to duplicate modules on page to get tabs to work. Cannot get functionality to work like demo site.
PLEASE provide more information or else module is virtually unusable.

I love all of this module features, especially it's configurable tab style.
Great work, thanks

Good start... Only issue so far is that the modules have to be published in order to appear in the tab menu. Which pretty much makes each module appear 2x on screen. Good start though! I absolutely love the styling options.
That's what I need. Thanks for your encellent work.If possible, please supply more styles.

This module looks really neat and could go a long way to saving on desktop real estate.
Need better instructions on how to add items to the tabs. It would be nice if the content of the tabs included a drop down menu of what is available.
