You can then place any number of modules inside the panel. Hiding them away when they are not in use.
Ninja Secret Panel uses mootools, but if you dont want to use this, it will still work using only CSS.
There are a variety of parameters in the module backend, to help you customize your secret panel.
Ninja Secret Panel is also CSS and XHTML Valid

I was looking for exactly this to cut down on the clutter on my right side column. I use it to hide the user login but it's clear that you can access it as well. You can also set it to registered users only for modules you only want signed up users to see, or not see, so this is great. Has a ton of customization options that really surprised me for a free product. Thanks!

The panel is not very "secret" and modules must already be visible for it to be active. BEWARE - there is no easy way to uninstall this module in 1.5 (not tested in 1.0.x)as it does not show in the modules installed list.

i do apologize for you having problems, however we are unaware of such problems, infact i have been working on this module for the last two days to add new functionality, and have installed and uninstalled multiple times. Perhaps you could post in our forums your issues, and i can try and fix them for you.
as for it not being "secret" i am not sure what you mean, would you rather it be only seen by you?
