Just installed both the Module and the Plugin (on Joomla 1.5.15) and they just worked out of the box (well after som CHMODDING on the respective directories of course). Also some great options for the module itself that just works!

Very useful, e.g. to have a range of pre-selected templates to show to a customer.
its WOW!!!

Great Job..Very impressive..keep it up!!!

This one just does what it is supposed to! keeps the desired template even after clicking a link and can handle working with copies of the module. Great!

This is a nice piece of work. My one complaint is that it only works on the sections where the mod is installed. I'd like to have the option of using the module on only one page, but have that apply to the whole site.
Designing a site for someone else? THis is a great and easy way to show options to potential clients. Let them pick and choose one or let them have em all. Very good for fresh look depending on season maybe. Many many ways to use.

I think this is what I was needing.
I have my site, and I wanted to make able the users to select their own tamplate, and this just did the job.
Thank you, so much!
I can see why this is a great add-on to have. It still does not seem to work properly if you have got Virtuemart installed, so I don't recommend it yet.

If you DONT use virtuemart, then get it. Makes the front end a whole lot sexier, and why shouldn't your users be able to pick the template for your site.. heck, YOU DO! :)

I just tried the combination of virtuemart and the Template Chooser on our test platform and I couldn't detect any problem. If there is still a problem we would like to remove it. Could you contact us through our forum or contact page to help us reproduce the problem?

I have been looking for something like this as I have a few templates that I'd hate to lose since I've worked so hard on them! The users will love it because some like the older templates, some like the new.. NOW they can choose!! Many Thanks for a GREAT plugin/mod!!

This is a very handy tool when developing new templates - I may even let my customers try it!
I had a problem using it with VirtueMart and got really excellent support and resolution from UltiJoomla, so I am happy to recommend this to anyone.

Well done UltiJoomla, this is a really useful and simple module, that worked first time out the box on Joomla 1.5.9
Thanks!

I have tried other mods for changing templates and this has been the only one to work for me. Like Cloudwise said, I would like to change how the template names are displayed. I think it would be better to show "Template Name" rather than "template_name". The latter looks too scripty to me. However, this is still an excellent mod and I highly recommend it to anyone needing multiple templates for their website.

There is a new version available which allows you to change the template names to whatever you like.

Remembering the template is of course cool. But for my purpose it would be great if i could define for registered users the template they switch to after registering.

Works great. One request for a future feature that would be greatly appreciated is the ability to RENAME the name of the template as it is presented to the users.
byarathra on August 26, 2008
As a quick way to change templates for testing this is excellent.

However, the selected template is stored in a session variable only so if the browser is closed and re-opened it goes back to the default template.

This is a *real* shame for us (and many other sites I would imagine.

If this feature were included then definitely top marks, but until then only an average rating.

It worked great once I edited includes/application.php as described below.

Great extension. Works perfectly after changing the includes/application/php file as instructed in an earlier review. Thanks so much!

I was kind of sad when I realized that Joomla 1.5 did not have Template Switcher. The Great Part is that this template switcher is even nicer than the origional. The FAQ for this was easy to find and impliment.
Works well once - the suggested change to application.php file was made.
