WARNING: THIS IS AN APPLICATION ADMINISTRATION TOOL TO RESET YOUR ADMIN PASSWORD. REMOVE THE TOOL IMMEDIATELY AFTER SUCCESSFUL USE.
Even though we have no immediate use for these tools, they have been downloaded and stored in our administrators toolbox just in case. Thank you very much!
Ok - Sometimes you just need something to work and BAM! I have just inherited 500 new accounts and a lot of them are joomla sites that the site owners and I have NO idea what the password access is, and the Token didn't work. But I followed the instructions and got in and am able to fix my client's issues!! THANK YOU!
This is an amazing extension.
I sat in-front of my computer for hoursss.. is hoursss to look for the password that somehow happen to change when I testing my Virtuemart vendor password. I don't know how, but somehow the super admin password change to that (I only realize after I reset my password, because the admin name is the 'testing' vendor in the Virtuemart).
I google thru the internet to look and rest in the conventional/traditional way, but it didn't work. When come to this extension, I am in doubt. I test and taa dahhh.. done in a flash second!!
Result: Amazing!!

1. open config file via ftp
2. find your db username/password
3. find the standard hash tag for admin password (somewhere on the web)
4. open phpmyadmin
5. find user table
6. replace password hash tag
7. login in the back end of the site
8. change password
Or use this component
1. upload folder via ftp
2. visit url and enter new password
3. remove folder via ftp

This extension saved me a BOATLOAD of time! I have a Joomla! site that I haven't accessed in a few months, and could not remember the admin password. Fortunately I had stored the ftp password, so was able to access it that way and with this extension, changed the Admin password in less than two minutes. Worked perfectly and saved my hide!! :)
