I too did this the wrong way round and installed the OSE suite after numerous hacks. This quite simply saved me, my business, my customers, money to pay someone else to do it and my sanity. There was a learning curve for this techo noob but the support is outstanding and they have never failed to help. I cant say enough about this purchase but glad i did. Thankyou to the OSE team.
I have been using this on my sites for several months, and the first thing worth mentioning is the Support!
Helix is amazing. Great attitude, Very Helpful. Great response time, Works until the problem is solved and/or the customer is satisfied.
I love everything about OSE. Reasonable price points, great support method, and very flexible well designed extensions. I will definitely be buying from them in the future.
Now, about this product:
Set up isn't for your novice web-admin and requires above average web-admin experience in php. Having said this, note the support feedback up top; they will help you to get it working, regardless of what you know (rather don't know)!
As I'm writing this, they have temporarily removed the Wizard feature from the set up, but have told me that it will be back in future versions. I NEED the Wizard feature! haha.
This suite covers almost everything. Brute-forcer prevention, Additional Password Protection, IP blocking, Virus scanning, PHP locking, and, really, too much to list off the top of my head. Basically a must for Social Networking and eCommerce Sites.
The one thing it doesn't offer is what you get with jSecure plugin, which is an alt-key for your administrator login url.

Title says it all really. I had various issues setting up the Joomla version of their anti hacker extension (they do a generic PHP version and Joomla version), mainly due to getting it working with the hosting company I use.
Their support was excellent, prompt and great communication.

I support a club website which has been under frequent hacker attack for the last couple of months. I'm pretty upset about it, actually - I'm an independent developer supporting a few local businesses and it's hard enough keeping up with my clients' needs without life being made so much harder by hackers. I really don't have the time or resources to deal with it. Hackers picking on sites like mine is the cyber equivalent of mugging pensioners.
Enter OSE Anti-hacker suite for Joomla. These people have developed a great product which (I'm pretty sure) does what it says it will do - I've already stopped 3 attacks in the first 24 hours of operation.
It's the only commercial extension I have bought thus far and the AU$85 purchase price was worth every cent. Not only that but the support has been incredible - super fast, professional and reliable. They're obviously setting about building a quality reputation and deserve to be commended.
If you've had major hacker problems you'll know what I mean when I say that it's fantastic to have a team like this on your side. I can't recommend them highly enough - it's very cheap peace of mind.

I initially had problems installing this product - because of my own lack of expertise. Knowing my limitations I eventually asked the developer if they would do it for me for a fee. Well, they went ahead and did it anyway and then said it had taken less than an hour and did not propose to charge me. I can tell you, I was so impressed by both their timeliness, their generosity of spirit and their overall professionalism that I could not possibly let them do it for free so I made an appropriate donation.

It almost never occurs that bad products are supported by great service! And great service will always ensure that problems when they arise will be addressed asap anyway.
I was motivated to post this review even before I had fully installed the product as I have just been so impressed by Shawn and Helix's very responsive and pro-active support.
They have also obviously put a lot of time into the User Manual which is appreciated as often documentation for extensions is a bit "on the light side".

I got a the http//xxx.net/in.php HTML:Iframe-MD virus on my website and bought the PHP Anti-Hacker Suite to fix it. I am new to Joomla so I struggled trying to install it but their tech helped me through it and even updated the virus definitions and cleaned the virus for me. It was the best service I have ever received for such an affordable price. Every PHP website should have this extention installed.
I tested other components and I was hacked again and again. I purchased the antihacker suite and I've not been hacked anymore. I cleaned all troyans in my website and the attacks continue but they are blocked and are all reported.

I have bought the Standalone-version to protect several sites on a vserver which is managed by plesk.
To keep it short:
People who know the complexity of a website and its background-processes will –of course- also be able to realize that it will be difficult to implement anti-hacking tools seamless into the existing server-structure without manual-investigation on the server itself. But this company is dealing in a very very professional way with this issue. They’re giving excellent support during the installation and setup-process. Helix is doing a really good job – seems to be working around the clock. He is always friendly until the very last question is answered.
I have learned a lot about rights-management and http-includes :)

We value security for our sites and although we have never been hacked (knock on wood) we know that it is important to secure our files and sensitive information.

The service alone makes this program worth every penny. They practically held our hand and walked us through every detail or question we had. It didn't matter what time of the day or night we needed help, they responded quickly and helped us. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Setting up complicated server configurations, ini files and php and getting it all to work can be maddening, so service is top with us and OSE is top in our book.

Therefore, I dig in the scripts, prey to god and curse those hackers but all these actions ain't working at all. Hackers still coming like almost everyday and injected those most hated iframe script.

I'll start this review by saying sadly I am one of the many Joomla users that turned to OSE antihacker after 2 of my sites were hacked - don't wait until its too late! this tool has to be running on your site/s if your value all your hard work.
Luckily the sites were not badly attacked and I was soon up and running again and my first task was to upgrade from 1.15.12 to 1.5.14 (I'll never be slow upgrading again). Then, after a couple of days of following the security tips here I started looking for a single app that could help me and I found OSE Antihacker. At first I was wary about purchasing a product when I'd only seen the demo site but bit the bullet and purchased the standalone version (I have several sites). Its been mentioned in earlier reviews that proper installation is not an out of the box affair.
Now, I've downloaded many joomla extensions and have had some great service/support but helix and the team have been excellent, I didn't purchase the extended support but the response was always swift and friendly and after I'd upgraded my sites to PHP5 (another must both for OSE & general security)I was ready to start testing.
Some of you may use a variant of the system Gaurd (GuardXT) and this was a blessing to locate and fix folder/file permissions and perform various other security checks. Next I made sure the sites were virus scanned and clean (a couple of rogue notifications that Helix sorted for me). This was all done on a clone of my largest site and I was now ready to install the single line of code into my site. If you don't have a test site you should be carefull as the whitlist is not complete and mod dependant but again, by return Helix an co were there to help me whitelist legal requests.
Everything went live yesterday and no banning of legit users but have already banned 10 blacklisted IP addresses for XSS offences.
This is by far the most important addition to my sites and the standalone version will protect all of my sites from a single CP - easily worth the money for your piece of mind and I'd happily recommend this to all Joomla users.

The site is now reinstated and has the anti-hacker installed, it is taking a little time to achieve the proper level of protection so my valid users don't get hack messages but Shawn has been monitoring these as they come through and helping me achieve the correct balance.
Putting the software to one side I have to say that the thing that really impressed me was the high level of customer service and speed of response. These guys are on the ball and working really hard to ensure that they have happy customers.
I have no hesitation in recommending OSE and their products every time. Top drawer service and top drawer extensions. Amazing!

It does exactly what it claims, in the background, but always active. But much more impressive: this company's support is beyond any expectation. For the uninitiated installation can be a bit daunting and tricky, but absolutely nothing is too much for them to help you along, both "in the background", and interactively (by way of hand holding through chats).
They also solve any compatibility issues with other extensions fast, competently and without fuss.
