I am a novice-intermediate Joomla! user and wanted some way to work on Joomla! off-line so that if I mess things up, I'm not doing it online. Joomlas2Go was a great find. With the Multisite pack, I can work on more than one project at a time. Gabriel is also very good with customer support. I have rarely ever received the professional and personal support to registered users as Gabriel has provided to me. I whole-heartedly recommend Joomlas2Go!

I have used many portable servers, but nothing compares to Joomlas2go (J2G) for Joomla web development. I was pleasantly surprised when I first started using J2G how everything was configured for Joomla, and how easy and intuitive it was. Now I can port all my Joomla websites to showcase to my clients, and it's worked on every computer I've tried it on. It definitely cuts off hours of my development time. The developer at J2G was quick to respond to my request for support, and he gave very detailed instructions on how to get unstuck.

If you're serious about Joomla development, don't waste your time (with free or paid extensions) with what's out there. J2G has been a blessing, and I use it everyday in all my work.

Thanks to JOOMLAS2GO! multisite I have a great portfolio with 36 live Joomla projects/demo sites running on my laptop, it is portable and does not need an internet connection - excellent! 11 out of 10 for JOOMLAS2GO!
Essential for anyone that is serious about web development, so easy to set up and use.

Joomlas2go is a must for everyone who is in the process of developing or maintaining Joomla websites. Gabriel has worked the process down to a one click installation and considering the great number of files involved Joomlas2go he deserves the highest rating possible. I purchased the premium package and downloaded the FireFox and Opera mulit-packs and was amazed at how simple the process of installation was. Just unzip the muli-pack onto your root drive – unzip it and your installation is done.

Pros

A. Ease of installation and stability of the program. One click and the default browser (in my case Firefox or Opera) opens up with multiple Joomla installs. You have Joomla 1.5, Joomla 1.6 and Joomla 1.7 Content Management Systems installed with both sample data packages as well as with no sample data all in one browser screen. Talking about a homepage for a developer this is the ultimate tool and a must have for ease of use…
B. With the ability to work and develop your Joomla website on your computer has many benefits for example – speed. If you have ever developed and maintained Joomla sites online you know the time required to edit and save pages – upload files and extensions and workout problems within the site. Well having them on your computer removes upload and download time and you are only limited by your computers speed and not your bandwidth. If you have a fast computer you will be amazed at the speed of Joomlas2go as you fly through your websites.
C. Using Joomlas2go on your computer you can easily spot slow or conflicting extensions that are not working well with your Joomla configuration. Just enable and disable them to see how well they work in your website environment. A slow lagging extension equals a slow loading webpage and a poor experience for visitors to your site let alone the excessive resources they use…
D. Support! Having worked with Joomla for a while now I have experienced both sides of the spectrum when it comes to support. Some extension developers have their heads so high in the clouds you (the person with the problem) are just a waist of their time. Gabriel is not that way as he goes the extra mile to work out your problems and not only does he go the extra mile but he offers to go two.

Cons

A. Just like anything else in life there is a learning process and Joomlas2go is no exception. Although the mechanics of Joomlas2go is similar to having your website online there are some adjustments to be made in your way of thinking but don’t worry they are painless modifications in the way you work your sites – call them tricks to the trade and easily adjusted to.
B. There was a problem with my Windows 7 Ultimate operation system in that it would not allow the Joomlas2go database to run from my C drive but Gabriel worked it out through Skype and Team Viewer and he just moved the multi-pack folder over to D drive and all was well. Actually it worked out better for me because I could access the multi-pack from multiple operating systems instead of being limited to just Windows 7…

The bottom line is Joomlas2go is a must for anyone who uses Joomla and I highly recommend both the program and Gabriel with 5+++ Stars and the Premium package – worth every cent – you won’t regret it…

I am so impressed with this program that Gabriel has created and is sharing with the Joomla community. Although I ran into a couple glitches (of my own making most likely), Gabriel responded to my queries in such a timely manner and was quick to provide a workable solution. This program is 'awesome!' I have used Joomla for many years and in many instances and while I have purchased other extensions, this one is probably the most valuable in that it affords me so much flexibility in site creation. Joomlas2go is running without any problems and is updated immediately by major updates from Joomla.

for starter its easy to use and to play around with your own website before you publish everything.

for developer is the multi site[premium] option the best and quickest tool to setup a site and start working on it. We use joomlas2go in nearest future also as presentation tool on trade-fairs for client presentations.

click to install and your good to go.
Far easier than using WAMP or XAMP
Gabriel the developer responds within minutes to questions. The video tutorials are good too.
I have now made a master install with all my favourite extensions, configure joomla how i like it.
To make another site, copy and paste a folder.
This is fantastic if your broadband is a bit slow
as it allows you to work locally from your Hard Drive, supremely quick when its an SSD :)
The support is incredible, questions answered quick and clearly.
Must have if you develop a lot of sites.
Speeds up workflow BIG time :)

Like others who have reviewed this product, I very rarely find products noteworthy enough to sit down and write a review. However, Joomlas2go is the exception.

As a web designer who works solely in joomla, to find a product which is a total turnkey package from installation to operation is remarkable.

The time I spent setting up WAMP, XAMPP, VertrigoServ and other local hosts, loaded joomla and unzipped it and set up my sql base, even for one project, can be laborious but when you work on many projects it becomes an irritant. The solution, Joomlas2go.

Simply install the application file, yes one file. Decide on the project name for the directory in the root of the drive you are using; select the version of joomla you wish and whether you want the sample data or not and that’s it. Sit back and the program sets up joomla on your preferred working browser. Shortcut your project to your desktop for the start button and you will find the stop button in your desktop tray. One button to start. One button to stop. No need to set up sql, one is set up for you but if you need more then it is simple to do so.

I have to admit i rarely take the time to review products that i have used. However ive been so pleased with this product and the support that i felt compelled to recommend it.

When asked by my MD to reproduce our joomla site on cd i groaned and expected a difficult time getting it to work, joomlas2go proved to be a lifesaver for me.

I donated to become a premium member, a mere 33 euros. And it was well worth it for me.

It isnt so much the package that stood out for me however (although it works fine) but the support.

I had a problem initially, and logged a support ticket. Within an hour Gabriel had responded and helped me sort things out.

If your like me, IT literate, but not heavily technical and want to build demo cds etc based on Joomla, i can wholeheartedly recommend this product.

I got the premium multiple site Prome Pack recently and it worked out of the box with no problems. Simply start the joomlas2Go.exe you have a local environment with multiple sites (Joomla 1.5 and 1.6) up and running in 20 seconds. With direct links, also to phpMyAdmin, in the Opera quick-links.

I had a question today and within minutes I had the first answer via email and after replying Gabriel was online on my PC sorting out the issue (with akeeba-backup/Joomlas2Go) for me till it was solved. Never seen such a support before!


If one is looking for a local environment without the hassle to get it up an running - this is a no brainer.

Thank you for this great application. I have found no other solution for onsite development and testing that compares with the simplicity and practicality of this. I have not tried saving to a CD for presentation purposes yet but what a great feature.
The application is easy to install and understand.
the professional version is worth every cent.
Not that much support is required but Gabriel is very obliging and really accessible.

If you are looking for a development solution for Joomla on a thumb drive this is a no brainer! Simply put this is the easiest solution you can find. The website is also well done and easy to navigate. Even if you don't think you need a product like this, try it anyway and you will wonder why you never tried it before. I can't thank the author enough for making this so simple!

Excellent! It is what I've been looking for like a month to get my portfolio on the CDs. I was freaked out when I found nothing that I could do for making demo CDs. Your program saves my life and makes it relieved from such a pain. I didn't even imagine it would be like this much easy to make copies of my website. Thanks!

This one is a very good extension. In fact, I think it is underrated. I have used it to develop my site locally, as well as test site for upgrades and new extensions, modules and plugins. ¡Works really fine!

Joomlas2Go works just as promised. I started with JoomlaPC but that did not work for some reason. (As a php dummy I don't have the knowlege to find out why). Easy to edit (with good notes inside the file) pms_config.ini to meet your preferances such as IE instead of Firefox etc. Thumbs up for this one.

For the simple love of all good things Joomla, I appeal to the author to not require user registration in order to download. All you're going to end up with is a bunch of user logins that are used once only. Oh, and a web site in English (even if only an option) would also be nice.
