The Joomla Component Creator is a component builder lets you effortlessly develop, customize and build ready-to-install components for the Joomla 1.6, 1.7, 2.5 and 3.0 platforms. A component view can hold multiple custom fields and can allow both back and front end editing. All Joomla component field types are supported as well as many custom ones including foreign keys.
Component code generated strictly follows the Joomla MVC structure and formatting guides.
You can develop a fully functioning component in 5 minutes:
1. Name your component
2. Add a table/view
3. Add fields
4. Build your component
5. Install the component in your Joomla Admin
If you have ever developed a Joomla component before then you know that a lot of time is spent on copy pasting views, controllers and models and renaming them. Now you no longer need to do this as the Component Creator will create a fully functioning component for you. Once you have named your component and added tables, views and fields you simply click “build component” and download a ready to install zipped up fully working component with a complete interface to add, edit and delete the data structure you have set up.

Well, I am amazed to see other reviews not being 5 star. This is the one and only tool that I have personally used the most and I am a very happy user!

This tool does exactly what it says on the tin! It creates the basic structure of a component which saves me tones of time, Highly recommended!
This is pretty much just a component skeleton creator. It creates a zip file that you need to add your own code into. Nothing else. Good for experienced users. With no interface or parameter generator this only gets 2/5 from me.

Hi, thanks for your review. As far as I can see you are the only reviewer that has ever given our component anything but a 5 star review. I find it a little unfair as the features you state are missing where never advertised.
That said, we have improved tremendously and have actually implemented all the features you where after in our version 3.0.
Please have a look again and please change your review score or delete your review if you find that we now offer what you where after.

This tool is a real time saver for Joomla extensions developers. Perfect for my need since I develop custom Joomla components for clients and this extension has reduced the development time to a great extent. Hats off!
I don't know exactly who wrote this or made this possible, but you have made my work and learning much easier with this tool. I have been working with Joomla for some time now and have wanting to learn how to write my own extensions. This tool was a god send in my learning process! Thank you very much!
What a time saver this is! You can install your newly created component immediately (of course, it will be empty, but still that is pretty cool).

This component generator, just to be clear, is really a webpage that after entering your name of the component you are intending to develop, generates the shell or framework of files and structure to then add your own code to complete the process of developing a component. The developer has not made this code available in a form where changes and additions are possible. That of course is their prerogative but it would be helpful if he would have.
The developer has graciously contributed his time to offer a great quick start to the development process, saving everyone else large amounts of their time. He is to be applauded for that effort.
Note: There is a small interaction issue due to a "feature" in Joomla 1.5, combined with PHP and this tool. You will likely experience an issue if your component name contains the string "view". If you name it with anything else, you should have no problems. (This behavior is supposed to be resolved when Joomla 1.6 is released)

Hi, please take a look at our latest version. We are working very hard to deliver nothing but the best developer tool for Joomla and would love to see a perfect score on the JED as well.
We have implemented loads of new features since this review was posted.

This is a wonderful and extremely useful tool!
The only issue I have with it is that it creates the XML for the date in the wrong format for my country (USA).
Today is March 10th, 2009, but the date gets created like this... 10/03/2009
It would be ideal to be able to select a date format on the setup screen, then we wouldn't have to go into the XML file and change dates manually.
It's really just a tiny minor issue, buit it's the only thing keeping this from being PERFECT!!
