Preventive and Reservation is the perfect simple solution for your visiter: they can confront and view your hotel's rooms prices and book them!
How does it works?
After the installation you only need to create, from the backend, the rooms ( Single? Double? Extra luxury suite? ), set prices and currencies ( euro? dollars? ) and decide the maximum number of bookable rooms, that you can set every time you want, also considering availability.
In front-end there's a form with a JavaScript calendar in which the visiter has to choose the day of arrival and departure, then the type and the number of the rooms he needs: at this stage it comes the preventive for each room and for the total amount ( obviously atomatically generated ) and the visiter can choose if make the reservation or not. If he decides to make it, he has to fill a simple form with some personal informations ( and you can add the text for the privacy treatment ), then an email will be sent to the site's administrator, that will be noticed that a new reservation request has been submitted. It will be sent an email also to the visiter who made the reservation, containing all the data he submitted.
This component, as we already said, has great custom attributes:
* fully compatible with Joom!Fish 2.0
* possibility to update whenever informations about the rooms
* possibility to select date format: gg-mm-yyyy ( european, default ) or mm-gg-yyyy ( US )
* possibility to decide which informations are required to make the reservation among:
*** name
*** surname
*** city
*** phone number
*** mobile phone number
* possibility to insert a text for the privacy treatment
* possibility to set that the acceptance of the privacy treatment is needed to submit the reservation
Also the 2 email ( to the administrator and to the customer ) are customizable:
* possibility to set administrator's subject email
* possibility to set customer's subject email * possibility to set administrator's email body
* possibility to set customer's email body
* automathic recovery and reporting of:
* customers personal informations o date of arrival
* duration of the reservation o number and type of rooms As far as validations and error management:
* automatic control of required fields
* free setting about the required fields
* automatic validation of the email address
* alert JavaScript which report different error messages
* possibility to customize error messages
Next version ( 1.2 ) could bring the following features:
* code alleviation
* more OO code * bug-fixing
* calendar validations
* rewriting of the styles ( CSS )
* creation of the module related to the component
The 1.2 version of he project will be probably released in December, 2009.

I like this component alot its very simple and easy on code. But that also is its downfall. If you are looking for a simple component that can reserve rooms/spots etc this is great. But if you need to take payment or see people who have booked in a record style then is'nt for you.

I don't think it's fair to call this a reservation system. It is just a component for creating a form, somewhat specialized for hotels. There is no checking if there have already been bookings etc, and if the hotel is full on that date. So the hotel can receive 1000 reservations, when in fact maybe the hotel only has 20 rooms.
Hey, this is what I ve been looking for! Yea Yeah Yeah! -thanks to the coders... it is easy to use, and does not have all the fancy stuff, one doesn't need anyways. A nice calender function, and the options that can be booked.
The only thing I would personally wish it had, would be an option to see, whether some event or whatever is booked out (or how many still are available) ... Big up, folks, keep up the good work, thanks!
