I've been struggling uploading this extension but I received an incredibly fast and precise support: the last file available on jcollection website fixes new issues with mysql version. Try it whenever you have the same problem.

I could finally use it for my magazines page listing and I found it simple to understand as well as flexible, you can easily adapt it to your specific needs. The front end result is as well very good : professional and clean.

Jcollection is the best component I have been using on joomla sites!
It is a very useful and flexible tool. By far one of the best-working and most useful components available.
LOTS of configuration options allowed me to get it looking and functioning just like I wanted.
Kudos to Thorsten, the developer.

And the support is more than excellent! Besides the forums on the developersite you can contact the author.
Just drop a email to creator and in few hours you will get the answer.
I sent the developer a question before I found the answer covered in the documentation.
He responded within some hours and gave me a very helpful reply. I was expecting a "RTFM" reply at most,
but he gave me a great example and wanted to make sure that I understood the answer.

As a side note: Thorsten is very courteous and will gladly help you out in case you encounter any
issue about using JCollection on your site. Even if the issue is not related to the plugin itself,
e. g. glitches, server-issues and thelike. This is much much better support than I've gotten from some commercial extensions.

PS.: Sure, this should be one of the first things that get ported over to the next version of Joomla! 1.6

This extension is great! I have contacted the author and now you can even import DVD Profiler xml files.
Eventhough it is beta- software it is exactly what I have looked for and it works perfectly for me!

I tried this component past time in the early years on joomla 1.0.xx. It was missing at the time. Now I´m back and I downloaded this beta version for J!1.5. It´s much better and promissing. Good to know the project is still alive. Thanks for the author.

looks very promising to me. I try to use it for filmographic lists for an actors site. hope it will make it.

try to implement more online databases like imdb and amazon enabled to turn on/off. and you will have the place number one.

Wow! I've been wrestling with finding something like this for too long. This is by far a better solution than jinking with Book Library. Smooth installation and flawless execution. Even support for lists!

A great recommendation for anyone who just wants to share their collection of stuff with their friends!

Great component here! Runs smoothly and has all the functionality i'd expect in a collection manager component - i specially like the modules that show latest content from one category or from all of them.
It's also easily configurable (with a little knowledge of web tecnologies) to fit any special needs.

Installed on Joomla 1.5 without any problems. I would like to cut the amazon connection, but doesn't seem to be easy.

Thanks for that. Nice little private library catalogue I have now. Just fill in the ISBN and Amazon gets the rest. Make categories etc. Brilliant. And I havent even started on my DVDs yet.

Very easy to install with nice configuration and great options to pull content from Amazon should be a winner look forward to putting it to work.

installs easy. easy to configure. you can modify it to manage a variety of collections. I have it pulling a variety of titles from amazon and managing a couple of other collections and inventory.

installed and running in about 5 minutes. completely intuitive. includes modules, bots and a clean interface. easily outshines all the other Amazon affiliate extensions I've tried.

documentation is clear, though lacks explanation of linking amazon affiliate payments. Lacks the ability to control access levels for users and guests.

I've been looking for something like this for a long time. good work and thanks!
