Joomdle: Moodle - Joomla Integration

Provides Single Sign On between Joomla and Moodle, showing Moodle contents in Joomla, search Moodle contents from Joomla, showing Moodle inside a wrapper, selling courses through Tienda or Virtuemart, integration with other 3rd party components such as Jomsocial or Community Builder...
Installation is relatively straightforward. Just follow their detailed instructions. Errors or problems are almost always related to some config issue in your server or other apps but solutions are easily found on the Joomdle forum.
Developers Antonio and Chris are tremendously helpful, especially when you consider that must errors occur from problems in your Joomla or Moodle settings rather than their product.
An excellent product worth supporting in the long term. Highest regards and ratings!
Beyond this being a powerful tool, I can't say enough for the Joomdle team. Antonio was so much help and he goes above and beyond for anyone wanting him to modify their Joomdle to make it just right. Within the course of 24 hours he helped me connect my Virtuemart/Joomdle payment set-up with a brand new payment provider and added some redirects for me to make everything look real smooth!
I really can't say enough besides that I will definitely be working with the Joomdle team more in the future. I truly hope more people will spread the word about this powerful, well documented, and free component!
Moodle was simple to install with clear, step by step instructions on the Wiki. Both the Joomla! and Moodle side of things were fairly simple although I stumbled across a few issues which were responded to via the forum quite quickly.
I had to get some custom development done for the payment gateway integration which was done extremely efficiently and works perfectly. Antonio also figured out a couple of configuration settings which weren't quite right while doing the work, saving me a lot of troubleshooting.
I've found this to be a really great system for integrating Moodle with Joomla and will definitely recommend it in the future.
The wrapper also worked brilliantly, and so did Virtuemart integration, in case the courses are commercial.
A Big Thanks to the developers of Joomdle. This is the beauty of open-source and you have worked hard to reveal its true potential... Thanks!
Joomdle seemed on the face value to be a great idea to have the two integrate together and gain the best of both worlds, and I'm sure that with some people this is the case.
However, if you do not understand what XML-RPC is or are not completely confident in how to find IP addresses or correct URL settings, or struggle to do your own troubleshooting, then this, unfortunately is not the component for you.
The reason being is you will be tearing out your hair if anything goes amiss. The instructions on the joomdle website are quite clear and understandable. But that is about all the support you will get. If, for what ever reason your application does not work, you are then on your own. After going through the forums, and for that matter emailing the developer personally, if you have any issues that he cannot answer, You will probably not get any response at all.
So in summary, Great concept, but if you are not and advanced user and are unable to troubleshoot on the fly. Then look for an alternative
I understand that sometimes it is difficult to write a help or installation guide. May be there are some difficulties to make translations. But it is so easy to place components in zip format which could be used to test your product directly in Joomla! Do you really thing that it is a good idea for everybody here to start working with your stuff with finding activators?
Hi. Sorry, but I think I don't understand you.
Do you mean that I should use .zip instead of .tgz? The two work well.
I don't know what you mean at all with the last question.
