Joomdle is the absolute wish list for a Joomla site integrated with Moodle. We have also integrated the Virtuemart shop to sell course participation with excellent results. Support is outstanding.
Highly recommend Joomdle.

Excellent idea that is finally being implemented. Granted they are still hard at work bringing full functionality into Joomla 1.7 they are well on their way. The support is super friendly and helpful (it is like paying for it). Not to mention this extension is free. A dream come true for me. Keep up the great work and look forward to the many more features in the near future.

The plugin is a nice product to help Moodle and Joomla to work better together. Moodle front is poor and I really liked to add Joomla functionality to the site. I will need a lot of customization work to make them work as they were together for ages you know. Any way, good job guys!

Such a great work from Joomdle Developers.

However, Joomdle for Joomla! 1.7 has some bugs and limited functionality. I hope will have new version available soon.

Thanks,

Sam

Joomdle does a great job integrating Moodle with Joomla, and in my case JomSocial. Once installed and configured, logins/logouts are seamless, as are edits/deletions of user profiles. Users can now enjoy the flexibility and advanced functions of Joomla CMS and JomSocial networking while connecting with their Moodle courses. Shopping cart integration is available for Tienda and VM but I haven't tried this yet.

Installation is relatively straightforward. Just follow their detailed instructions. Errors or problems are almost always related to some config issue in your server or other apps but solutions are easily found on the Joomdle forum.

Developers Antonio and Chris are tremendously helpful, especially when you consider that must errors occur from problems in your Joomla or Moodle settings rather than their product.

An excellent product worth supporting in the long term. Highest regards and ratings!

This is just a fantastic extension for Moodle users.

Antonio, the developer has been of great support in installing and setting up the component on two live sites. For peace of mind, I hired him to do it for me and don't regret it.

Great component, great guy. Thanks!

In my opinion this is the most powerful free component offered on the Joomla CMS platform. I don't say that lightly. It essentially makes Moodle another feature of your Joomla run website or vice versa. So now you can have the most powerful open source CMS connected to the most powerful open source LMS!

Beyond this being a powerful tool, I can't say enough for the Joomdle team. Antonio was so much help and he goes above and beyond for anyone wanting him to modify their Joomdle to make it just right. Within the course of 24 hours he helped me connect my Virtuemart/Joomdle payment set-up with a brand new payment provider and added some redirects for me to make everything look real smooth!

I really can't say enough besides that I will definitely be working with the Joomdle team more in the future. I truly hope more people will spread the word about this powerful, well documented, and free component!

This is without a doubt the BEST non-commercial extension I have had the pleasure of coming across. In fact I would go as far as saying that this comes close to knocking a lot of commercial extensions off their perch. If the Developer charged for this, I'd be first in the queue, cash at the ready. If you want to integrate Moodle into your Joomla site, look nowhere else - this is the only extension you'll need. The extension is backed up by solid, easy to read documentation and a forum with a lightning quick response. I can only presume that people not giving this full marks didn't have the patience to sort out the minor installation quirk which is easily rectified by running an SQL command in your Moodle database - I have NO MySQL experience but by folloing Antonio's clear instructions (he even lays out the SQL command for you!) the installation was up in no time.Every credit and hats off to Antonio and his team for a world class Joomla extension!!!

When I decided to use Moodle for an E-Learning site I had taken on from a client who was let down by another developer, it had to work properly, and quickly.

Moodle was simple to install with clear, step by step instructions on the Wiki. Both the Joomla! and Moodle side of things were fairly simple although I stumbled across a few issues which were responded to via the forum quite quickly.

I had to get some custom development done for the payment gateway integration which was done extremely efficiently and works perfectly. Antonio also figured out a couple of configuration settings which weren't quite right while doing the work, saving me a lot of troubleshooting.

I've found this to be a really great system for integrating Moodle with Joomla and will definitely recommend it in the future.

Installing and configuring Joomdle is so easy and really works beautifully. I had recently installed it and configured to establish a bridge between my Joomla website and Moodle. I followed their documentation in Wiki and everything went perfect!

The wrapper also worked brilliantly, and so did Virtuemart integration, in case the courses are commercial.

A Big Thanks to the developers of Joomdle. This is the beauty of open-source and you have worked hard to reveal its true potential... Thanks!

I have been struggling with this plugin for a week now. I like the concept of Moodle. It is a very powerful and flexible tool. I also love the Joomla CMS system and the work that everybody puts into their modules.

Joomdle seemed on the face value to be a great idea to have the two integrate together and gain the best of both worlds, and I'm sure that with some people this is the case.

However, if you do not understand what XML-RPC is or are not completely confident in how to find IP addresses or correct URL settings, or struggle to do your own troubleshooting, then this, unfortunately is not the component for you.

The reason being is you will be tearing out your hair if anything goes amiss. The instructions on the joomdle website are quite clear and understandable. But that is about all the support you will get. If, for what ever reason your application does not work, you are then on your own. After going through the forums, and for that matter emailing the developer personally, if you have any issues that he cannot answer, You will probably not get any response at all.

So in summary, Great concept, but if you are not and advanced user and are unable to troubleshoot on the fly. Then look for an alternative

I read some of the reviews and I'm not sure what people are complaining about. All the documentation was in English and well written (maybe it wasent before) and the issue I had when I put in the wrong IP was addressed in the forum and I found the answer in two minutes. I am just starting my own business - when I start making money I will more then happily pay for this extension. Thanks, Garrett in ireland

Dear developer,

I understand that sometimes it is difficult to write a help or installation guide. May be there are some difficulties to make translations. But it is so easy to place components in zip format which could be used to test your product directly in Joomla! Do you really thing that it is a good idea for everybody here to start working with your stuff with finding activators?
Owner's reply

Hi. Sorry, but I think I don't understand you.
Do you mean that I should use .zip instead of .tgz? The two work well.
I don't know what you mean at all with the last question.

English is not the only language at the world. I had to learn English for use some software and now you have to learn Spanish to use this.

You are right, I also got excited when I saw this component. The configuration would not be hard to follow if the component was in English. I believe it's the first time the developers have done this and hopefully we can have an English version. Unfortunately I will give a thumbs down

This seemed like it would have been a great component/module for a site I am building for a school. However all of the notes are in spanish, which I don't speak and the downloadable pdf documentation was also only in spanish. So sadly I couldn't figure it out.
