I have several folks that I work with that needed training
on various job tasks. This component worked perfectly. Making tests were super easy. I was able to train the trainer in about 5 minutes. For the users it was easy also. Just login and see which tests are available.

As it says. It is the only FREE LMS that Joomla has- and it does its job. Minus a few compatability issues and the lack of forum support, this component stands out through its standing capability and its price.

I will most likely upgrade to silver edition if this product works out for my office.

Support is not handled through a forum but we have a support center and support each customer on an individual basis as nobody knows the Joomlearn LMS better than us. We have found that we can offer much better 1 on 1 support rather than using a forum for support. It is much more effective.

I installed Joomlearn Basic on a new site for a client who is interested in using it and requested this because it's free. Installation went without a hitch and set CB integration in the Joomlearn Config Panel. Added a Menu Item for the component and it throws and error:

Fatal error: Cannot re declare ismoderator() (previously declared in .../public_html/components/com_lms/comprofiler.php:1091) in .../public_html/administrator/components/com_comprofiler/comprofiler.class.php on line 2677

I went to the Joomlashowroom website and tried to submit a ticket spent 10 minutes filling out the form (using firefox) and on submission the page just blinked and the ticket was gone (not submitted). I said to myself "OK maybe IE will do it". So i did it again with IE and same thing. I have submitted an email through the contact system notifying Joomlashow room of my problems and their website snafu.

I don't understand why there is no public forums for users to help users? I am always suspicious of a company that will not use forums? In my 15 years experience this usually means that they got something to hide.

I searched google and found others with this error posted in forms to other similar products. And have seen, among other things, Don't bother trying to get support they just won't respond. And no solution yet and no response to my Email to Joomlashowroom.

Until these issues are addressed, I can not give this component a thumbs up.

It didnt work instantly, but with such a great support system the team at JoomlaShowRoom.com was able to get it configured properly for me and I love the component.

Just make sure to use the ticket submit system at their website and you can count on great service.

A great component for administering tests, this has one noticeable flaw. First let me say that initial installation is a breeze (even if the process of obtaining the component from the developer is a little drawn out).

The flaw is that the component uses some common css which can conflict with templates. That is, the component uses the div id "footer" which means if you use it in your template you will have 2 footers rendered on a page. So, you either have to go into the component files and change all instances of #footer or do so in your own template and css file.

The flaw was major enough that I will not use it until I can get all instances cleaned from the component as I write all my templates using the footer id.
