One of the things that I do not like about this product is the fact that the following tags are automatically added to each page.
Autostand.net .::
A question was posted on their forum several months ago asking how to remove it. However the post was never answered.
This is annoying & wasting my time. I am not impressed.
Thank you for your review, but maybe we're missing something here. "Autostand.net.::" doesn't show, maybe you're confusing with Your Company, wich can be TRANSLATED in the language file
YOUR COMPANY=Translation
What could happen is when using language files, wich may contain the YOUR COMPANY= Autostand.net because it was done for our demo site.
Even the logo and url at the bottom can be removed in Settings--> Show Logo: Y/N
We really don't know why users post reviews, when a simple search in our forum or a contact by email could solve this.
keep walking and surprise us with new options.
But uploading files separately. Then choosing 15 times for 15 files for 1 car is a terrible time-waster for me.
I have seen other photo galleries that can choose multiple files and then upload all at once. This should be upgraded and improved asap.

Thank you for your review. We would like to inform that this as been updated. Now it allows to upload 12 images at once. To bad the review was made 4days before we update, but all the reviews are welcome ;)

Rapid response from the developer, its fantastic when you email them a question and you get a detailed reply back in 10 mins !!!
The developer has made a user friendly component and is open to new features and improvements.
Good instruction manual.
Add in your own fields, which appear in the front and backend for easy updating.
Few tweaks to the language file and its ultimately flexible.
I'm sure this component will keep getting better and better with each update.
Looking forward to when it will do, Cars, Boats and plant vehicles from one joomla install.
Support is simply the best.

Got it working in just a few hours and modifications are easy. Ships with a couple of modules as well. Some minor things could be improved but as we are speaking of open source here, I made a start contributing by creating some Dutch translation files and making some minor changes to make it even better. You can find the documentation, the Dutch language file for the V2.7 and a little more here:

Good support. Send 2 emails requesting some minor changes in the layout, reply as clear a simple.
By the way, the demo site is an excellent reference to see this extension at work.

Before purchase - I contacted support as I was concerned that it wouldn't work correctly with my self-created template. Nuno (in support) offered to test it for me and then showed me the component working with my template - He also gave some template suggestions to make it even better.
After purchase - I had lots of requests/changes. Nuno actioned all requests extremely promptly and efficiently.
I have NEVER experienced such incredible support, EVER.
If I good mark this a 10 - I would.

They have been quick to respond, and quick to address some changes I asked for. The component itself works very solidly. Of course like all components, there are always features it could use but does not currently have. That's ok, it appears the Autostand Team is actively working the project and making an effort to improve their product.
It was well worth it to me and my client (New and Used Car dealership in the US) to purchase said product and we look forward to a great relationship with the developers.

And the best part, you can use it with any type of vehicle. Cars, bikes, boats (In my case RV's.
It can improve a lot to become a reference, and from the work I've seen I really think they will get there.

Thank you for your review ...In order to clear things, we used this option with the images, so that users can use FTP to upload the images, and/or use media manager to upload images. This was one of the many requests we had, the option to upload images by ftp, so when we make the option, here you have the review...Why not refer this also to joomla? When you post some article,you upload the images first to stories folder right?And then select the images to use in the article.
Keywords for each vehicle is also something that users didn't used much, so we removed this option.
And the most important of all, the free version does NOT work in Joomla 1.5.x, not even with legacy.
Another thing I don't understand, is why users post such reviews, comparing with other extensions, and voted 1 and probably didn't even acquired the extension that they are reviewing?

I have ALWAYS received fantastic service from Nuno, the developer. He even did the upgrade to my site for me. He has been very patient and replied to all my emails in a timely manner as well. I have had a great experience with him and this package.
I will be using this package again soon and would recommend it to anyone needing this type of site module.
As a sugestion, check demo site to see it in action. For our needs, we just used one module to create a simple site but like many other extensions needs some "personal adjustments"

However, we think it's in the good way and with some more improvement will be one of the top.SEF option, more detail search, and some adjustments in the layout, and in our case is more then enough. Frontend is possible, although is more focus to work with backoffice.
Overall we do recommend this component if you plan to start a simple site to show your cars, or for your clients, since it as a simple backoffice not very complicated to work with.
This component have a very lot of errors and Nuno not response after my second colaborative email.
The thumbnails (mini pictures) dont look when I acces to edit a car in Back-end, it's posible this is un error of enroutment (direction to take picture). The pictures exist and if you open the list an select again, it's ok.
The form not is totaly visible.
The modules dont use a css and I have very problems to put in the templates beacause this. It use the colors and sizes in the module, not in the css. It's the same error whith the languages, beacause put parts in english in the code, not in the file of language.
It don't use the configuration of the component in Front-end (ex. I try to unmark the Fields 1 to 6 (why don't use) but in the car it's displayed.
This component not run properly with Templates.
This component not run with Joomfish.
I proposed two solutions to Nuno: "you correct all the errors in the pack and you send me a new version correctly, or you send me my 39,95 Euros and I search an other commercial product", but I don't have a response.
It's very disagreeable when you lost a money, be careful!
I really don't understand some users...But ok, I have no control with the reviews, and even if we did, we would not edit them. The component could not rund perfet with some templates, but probably like many other extensions works with J! default template, works with some attached in the pack, works with many other templates we tested, but we did not tested it with for example comercial templates. And when problem comes, blaim extension..
About Joomfish have you check demo site?See it working? Like we said we DID NOT made the language files, and as notice where users who sent them, so probably the files where done acoording to that user needs
And last but not least have you checked your reply at 11.05.2009? Before you post such coments...Paypal 149650406 11 May 09 04:30 rings a bell? So again why such reviews? We anounce something wich users can get, a site like the demo! Modules used are exactly the same. Even the WORKING template, all in the pack.
And again, sory for the english, mine is also very bad

For the price, I did not expect robust docs or instant support. All I ask for is an extension that does what it says.
I have spent the better part of a couple of weeks trying to get this to look/work correctly, but I'm afraid I have to abandon ship. Even after the last 'update' from Nuno, I still continue to have the same issues.
Simple things are just not handled. For example, if a user inputs a price with a separator in it (i.e. 15,000), then the search by price feature will not work. Prices need to be entered without the ',' or other separator. Of course, the system does not TELL you this, you'll get this surprise later. So, you say, just enter the price without the separator. You can do just that - if you want your front-end product display to look amateurish. It's a no-win.
The component does not play nice with many templates, and I could not even get it to perform well with the developer's own.
Simply put, please be VERY careful about paying money for this.
Oh, and my forum posts didn't receive adequate answers, even when they received a response. As cefnlly says, take a look through the forums and see the sort of answers Nuno gives. He can be extremely condescending - so be warned.

Thank you for your comment. The price is set like that because when we want to say 1000 (ten thousand) we don't write 10.000 or 10,000 but 10000. So when the search was done, I just follow the same analogy. Perfect extention? No, is not! But belive me, will be one of the best!!! An the updates will still be free, even to momentis ;))
The extention works fine with joomla default templates, works fine in the demo template, but in some templates could have some incompatibility with css. All the users have their opinion but things like ..."please be VERY careful about paying money for this.." or "...He can be extremely condescending..."??? Does this really help the users? In what? Users have a demo site, can have backend access to demo site, the pack includes everything you need to make a site at least like the demo or better, the price is public (yes a fortune, for users who will sell the sites using it 20x the price of Autostand pack) but that's the idea, otherwise we would not sell it. XML files, templates, etc., have free updates, so why do they need to be THAT careful when buying a PACK??? I'm really sory if the english is not perfect. I do try to make some sense when writing. If reply's where done in Portuguese, maybe it would help a lot, but probably no one would understand it, or just few ones...
