The JED Team is comprised of a dedicated group of volunteers that donate hundreds of hours each month to keep the directory running smoothly. The current team members are:
Each team member may be asked to help in any various area of the team, but general positions are outlined. More than one person can be in a position, but is generally setup with a Senior and Junior member of that position. The JED Team is regularly seeking more volunteers. Current Team Positions
JED Team Manager
Responsible for the oversight of the Joomla! Extensions Directory site and team.
Responsible for escelated issues with end users and developers
Liason between the Community Leadership Team and the JED Team.
Maintains consistent guidelines.
Recommends changes to the Terms of Service to the CLT
Recruits new team members
Helps in any other positions when needed
Posts monthly working group reports
General other duties assigned by the CLT
JED J!People Support Guru
Responsible for the J!People JED Group
Posts announcements to the JED J!People Group
Facilitates discussions and ideas in the JED J!People Group
Works closely with J!People site admins to ensure GPL compliance with Fan Clubs
Assists users and developers in the J!People site in relation to extensions or the JED
JED Forum Support Guru
Responsible for the JED S&I Forum
Posts announcements to the JED S&I Forum
Facilitates discussions and ideas in the JED Forum
Works closely with Forum moderators and admins
Assists users and developers in the Forum in relation to extensions or the JED
JED Listing Editor
Processes submitted listings
Communicates with developers when necessary to assist with listing approval
Reviews extensions for GPL and documented "best practice" compliance
Assists with selecting Editor's Picks and writing up reviews for same
JED Blogger
Regularly blogs on the official channels about the JED
Maintains social channels in relation to the JED
Finds interesting stories for blogging and works closely with the Joomla! Community Magazine editors
JED Reviews Editor
Processes reviews
Communicates with developers and end-users when issues with reviews arise
Investigates commercial disputes in reviews
JED Reports Editor
Processes reports on extensions
Works closely with end-users and developers to resolve reports
Investigates copyright infringement
JED Detective
Reviews potential fraudulent activity in any area of the JED
Communicates with developers and end users
Recommends negative action to team management for verified fraud
JED Site Development
Continuously looks for ways to improve the look and function of the JED
Tests User Experience and provides feedback to Team Management
Implements new design and features
Develops new extensions or works with other extension developers for site enhancements
Investigates and solves site errors reported by the team, end users or developers
JED New Developer Help Guru
Works with new developers to understand the process for submitting listings
Recommends ways to simplify processes and guidelines to Team Management
JED Documentation & Tutorials Curator
Maintains and oversees improvement of all current documentation
Creates video and graphical tutorials for new and existing features of the site
Works closely with the Joomla! YouTube Team to produce video and "How-To" examples
JED Security Specialist
Maintains and oversees reports of Vulnerabilities
Liaison between JSST, VEL and the JED
Works closely with listing owners to understand the republishing process
JED International Specialist
Maintains translations of blogs, guidelines, terms of use, documentation and tutorials
Liaison between Joomla! User Groups in geographical locations where English is not a first language
Works closely with non-English communities and acts as a direct point of contact for the team
JED User Experience Specialist
Maintains the overall navigation and experience for the JED
Liaison between Joomla! Site Redesign Team(s)
Works to maintain categories structure and the submission and enhancement process
