yKhoon Block Failed Login is an extension that will automatically block your visitor IP Address or user account when your visitor exceeded certain number of failure login. When your visitor are blocked, they cannot browse or access your web site for a certain period of time. After that, the extension will automatically unblocked your visitor IP Address or user account. The extension will not only protect your front-end (visitor area), it will also protect your back-end (admin area). This will improve your web site security since it will prevent brute-force login attempt on you web site. The extension will create a log that contain some information such as date, time, visitor IP Address, login attempt on front-end or back-end, and etc, so that you take further action based on the log file. Changes 1. Compatible with Joomla 2.5. 2. Update on User Guide and Help Page. Features 1. Able to automatically block an IP Address or user name after a specific number of failure login within a period of time. 2. Able to automatically unblock an IP Address or user name after a specific period of time. 3. If a failure login attempt is after a specific period of time, it will consider that failure login as first attempt and will block the IP Address or user name after a specific number of failure login within a new period of time. 4. Able to set the number of failure login attempt before block an IP Address or user name 5. Able to set the time limit, and when certain number of failure login reached within this period of time, the IP Address or user name will be block. 6. Able to set specific period of block time for front-end failure login. This apply for IP Address or user name that has been blocked by the front-end login module. 7. Able to set specific period of block time for back-end failure login. This apply for IP Address or user name that has been blocked by the back-end login module. 8. Able to prevent the blocked IP Address or user name from browsing the web site (front-end and/orback-end) until the system unblocked the IP Address or user name. 9. Able to create a log file with useful information every time when a failure login detected or when a blocked IP Address or user name try to browse your web site. 10. Able to choose whether to block IP Address or user name. 11. Added Failed Login Manager to manages the blocked IP Address or user name. 12. Able to unblock an IP Address or user name before the blocked time end. 13. Successfully checked as XHTML 1.0 Transitional and validates as CSS Level 3 using W3C Markup Validation Service and W3C CSS Validation Service. 14. Block Country from accessing your site. No need to enter IP ranges. cfBlockCountry (Plugin) The plugin cfBlockCountry can be used to block IP address from certain countries. For example if you want to block access of the site from any IP in United States you can use this plugin. Some important points: 1. It only blocks access to website and not the admin interface so that if you accidently block your own country you can reset the country list 2. We use free DB from MaxMind (http://www.maxmind.com/app/geolitecountry). As per the MaxMind this DB is 99.5% accurate. 3. There are 2 options in the plugin, if you want to use geoip database from local server, you can select the Local option after installing the plugin. But before you select local option please upload geoip folder in the plugin zip file to /libraries/ folder of joomla installation. If this operation is not performed and local option is selected this will cause error on Joomla and you may not be able to access joomla site unless plugin is disabled from DB. 4. The benefit of choosing local option is that you can buy the latest more accurate DB from http://www.maxmind.com/ and use that DB Configuration: 1. Country Codes: This requires comma (,) separated list of Country codes that need to be blocked. For example US, IN, FR to block IP Address from United States, India and France. 2. Verification: External (default) or Local. External will use CodeFire.in Server to validate the country. We use latest Free DB from MaxMind http://www.maxmind.com/app/geolitecountry. In case you want to use local Verification you will need to install the geoip DB on your server. Please do not enable Local without installing the DB. (Refer below for installing the DB) 3. Message or Redirect: In case a user from blocked country accesses the site, you can display an error message or redirect them to some other site. 4. Text Message: This is the error message that will be displayed. 5. Site: You need to set url for the site where you want toredirect the user example http://www.CodeFire.in Install GeoIP DB for local option. 1. Extract the geoip folder from the plugin zip. 2. Upload the folder geoip to libraries/ folder of Joomla installation 3. Get the latest GeoIP.dat from http://www.maxmind.com/app/geolitecountry. and replace the existing (blank file with same name)one in /library/geoip folder 4. Enable Local option in plugin settings. Bug Fixed =========== 1. When Verification is set to Local plugin was not blocking countries. This has been fixed and will be available in new releases today forward (30 June 2010). This simple plugin installs into your 1.5 or 2.5 site to blacklist or whitelist IP addresses and ranges for either the administrator or the site. The settings can be used interchangeably so the administrator can be set to white list mode and the site can be set to black list mode. The 2.5.1 release fixes a bug with the front end blocking code. Added in 2.5.0 is improved support for IPv6 and a display of the current IP address from which you are accessing your administrator. Joomla! 2.5 is required for version 2.5.0 and won't be made available for earlier versions of Joomla!. Added in 1.5.3 is the ability to define comments in the params by prefixing the line with a pound character. Added in 1.5.2 there is the ability to use a table to define entries. The table create statement is at the top of the banip.php file. An XML install for Table Editor (part of the Advanced Tools project) is available to modify the table in a GUI style interface. Note: If you wish to test your ranges before applying them, check out the IP Checker in my JDiagnostics kit: http://sammoffatt.com.au/os/index.php/joomla-15-products/13-jdiagnostic/29-jdiagnostic-ip-checker If this extension is misconfigured it may prevent access to your site. For now there are not much features but maybe you want help to bring more in, than just contact me. Features: - Set a key> value pair to check on backend login - Ban IP addresses/ranges on backend or frontend site by black- or whitelist, supports ipv4/6 Thx to the cool Joomla! form fields it checks your IP against the black- and whitelists to give you a bit more protection from kicking yourself out. - Ban Countries by IP on backend or frontend site by black- or whitelist. Using the GeoLite Country database from maxmind.com - both ipv4/6 are included in binary format. Both classes how are included to do this 2 jobs can be easily used later in your code (prevent access to content for specific countries for example). NOTE: Do not set the admin to wl and leave the field for country codes empty or insert a country code you`re not in, this will kick you out from admin and you have to do a manually edit to get in again. Fo example I write this little extention to redirect internal user of my company to certain content. Specify more than one ip adress using comma to separate ip. Remeber to enable this module not in all pages (!!!!) to avoid endless redirections.

Easily block certain countries, states / provinces, regions, zip codes / postal codes, and/or area codes from accessing a Joomla website while allowing IP address / IP range exclusions. With our Joomla plugin, you are now able to block access to your website based on Geo-location information. Simply install the plugin, enter the areas you would like to block, and you're done. Blocked visitors will either see a basic textual block message that you provide in the settings or they will be redirected to another external website. On the other hand, if you have a list of only approved countries, states / provinces, regions, zip codes / postal codes, and/or area codes, you may enter those to specifically allow them and block all other areas. Features: - Exclude IP addresses or range of IP addresses from being blocked using comma separated values, dash separated ranges, CIDR ranges, and wildcards - External server look-ups mean you get the most up-to-date information without any manual updating or subscription fees - By default, the plugin uses an external server to look-up geographic IP address location data which is updated once a month. The database is over 99.5% accurate on a country level and 79% accurate on a city level for the US within a 25 mile radius. This requires that your web server supports cURL on port 80 (most web servers do). The plugin also gives you the option of manually downloading the geographic IP location database periodically and uploading to your own server. However, the external server look-up is very fast, very accurate, and is adequate for most users. Compatibility: The plugin has been programmed and tested with Joomla 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5. Feel free to testin other versions of Joomla and report back to us so we can update our information. If you have problems with the plugin in other versions of Joomla and would like us to update the plugin for your version of Joomla, contact us.
