This Joomla plugin allows you to specify the pages of components that are visible to guests versus those pages of the component that require the user to login first. This is useful if you have a component - such as myblog, and you want certain blog pages to be viewable by guests, however, you want other blog pages to be viewable only by logged-in users. Many components only allow you to specify if all or none of the pages are viewable by guests vs registered users. In many cases, you want to pick and choose which pages are public vs private. You can do this with Component Content Control. Version 1.61 - For use on Joomla 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5 websites only. Use V1.52 on Joomla 1.5 websites. NOW you can control multiple components and easily set up your components that you want to be mostly private or mostly public. For example, you might use MyBlog and have a blog that you want to be mostly private, but have some blog pages that you want to be public. Then just enter "com_myblog" in the "Mostly Private Components" parameter, and enter in the Public Tags (url fragments) of the blog pages that you want to be public. At the same time, you might have another component that you want to be mostly public, with private access required for a few pages. Then just enter that component name (eg: com_poll, etc) in the "Mostly Public Components" parameter, and enter in the Private Tags (url fragments) of the pages that you want to be private. With this component, you can customise the error 404 page that your visitors can see when they type a wrong url. The customized page contains : * an explanation text * a link to your homepage * a search engine that searches on your website For each error, a mail is sent to the address you want to tell you. You can also define keywords to avoid some of these mails. For example, if you add the keyword "test", all the dead links with the word test will display the error page to users, but will not send the mail. There is now an admin interface for these keywords. Since version 1.6 the text of the error page can be changed easily from the admin interface. Version 1.7 to 2.0a correct errors in the plugin and improve detection of pages in error. This component is available in French, English, Ukrainian, Russian, Brasilian, Dutch and Czech. This version is now compatible with the native Joomla SEF. You do not need to change the htaccess file anymore. The redirection is done by a plugin which uses the original htaccess file from Joomla.

Redirect is a Joomla 1.5 port of the new Redirect component that comes with Joomla 1.6. Redirect allows you to detect when Joomla cannot find a page (typically called a 404 error) and then allows you to redirect those pages elsewhere to avoid the error. This helps to avoid penalties search engines apply to your page ranks due to excessive errors. Redirect can be a valuable tool when you are reorganising the menu for your web site, or you are changing setting (like turning SEF on after going live).

Advanced Login Redirect on 404

A clone of the Joomla System Redirector, but before falling back to looking for a redirect, determines if the only reason a 404 was encountered was due to user might need to login - and if so, sends them to the login form. This can still end in a redirect after they login to a 404 (because suppose you set the access of a page to MANAGERS but the user logs in and is a regular REGISTERED user). ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH SITES USING SEF (if your joomla configuration does not have SEF URLs enabled, this plugin is not for you... sorry). This just adds back in the functionality that Joomla used to provide to redirect to the login form when on pages that are authorize (remember the YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED... messages? Better than a 404!) I built this for developers not happy with showing 404 messages to users just because they are not logged in, let's redirect them and them and log them in. If they make it through login, they're redirected to the page that would have raised the 404 and 99% of the time they have access. If permissions for the page are greater than they have once logged in, they will still get a 404... READ THIS if nothing is happening: 1) Do you have SEF enabled? If not, you must 2) In your plugins, edit the sort order. Make sure that this plugin comes BEFORE the system redirect plugin. 3) DO NOT call me ;) Apparently some people think it's fine to call a developer's cell phone for free support... hmmm, not cool!
