Functionality

For the usage as a community website all is on board, nice. But the possibilities of usage go far beyond that. It is amazing.

Ease of use

Not so easy to use. You need some time for understanding. But this is due to the great possibiities and complex component.

Support

With a developer license you get an answer every evening from the main developer, who is very skilled. Very good.

Documentation

Many videos are available, but the doumentation lacks some areas. I would wish a searchable collection of all strings and functions.

I used this to: Building up a comprehensive website with community builder as a base togehter with further components. CB is a realiable tool for a website with even up to 1 mill user. Fantastic spam-security features on board for running a website savely.

Functionality

CB does everything we want in terms of managing our club membership and can easily be integrated with other extensions.

Ease of use

Easy to install and set up but reading the manual first makes it much easier to understand the concepts.

Support

Cannot fault the support at all. Quick, clear responses and lots of patience with newbies.

Documentation

Comprehensive user guide, lots of video tutorials and case studies.

I used this to: Managing the membership records of a club, including subscriptions management.

Functionality

I have used Community Builder for several years. I have tried other competing components and have ended up being disappointed.

Ease of use

There is definitely a learning curve, but there is lots of documentation and the forum is very helpful.

Support

I usually try to figure things out on my own, but when I needed help I have received it.

Documentation

This is provided through a pdf user guide, the online forum, and video tutorials.

I used this to: I am currently using this on several clients sites: Clubs, groups, and small businesses.

Functionality

Very flexible with many complex functions, built with a long history since 2006

Ease of use

I think it is necessary to read the documentation before using this component, it is not too complicated but quite detailed and optional

Functionality

It allows me to add the fields I need as a Treasurer of a very small group. However, suddenly the Text Field Validation has gottoo complex.

Ease of use

Mosty its a doddle, but it is getting more difficult.

Support

The forums are all paid for .. so none is possible

Documentation

It misses out all the difficult but necessary things .... like making Post Codes in capital letters and numbers with one space only

I used this to: Running a membership of 100 people on Accountability Scotland. Adding bespoke fields is easy, except for validation ...

Functionality

Way more functionality than expected. Highly flexible and adaptable. The plugins are definitely worth the small investment.

Ease of use

Easy to use considering the amount of features it has.

Support

Best I have experienced. I received support in 24 hours on 2 occasions giving me the answers that I needed.

Documentation

Use the forums. Plenty of help there.

I used this to: Managing employee documentation for over 100 staff members.

Not left in the dark with regards to support.

Functionality

Great, so much on offer that almost anything is possible.

Ease of use

As a severely sight impaired (blind) person who relies totally on a screen reader, CB is so intuitive to use, top marks for ease of use.

Support

The support I have received from the CB team is second to none, all questions have been answered quickly, fully and professionally.

Documentation

Plenty of options to learn about the product and its additional extensions, plugins and uses.

I used this to: Learning to create interactive websites with database queries for self populating fields. I will be a long term subscriber to the CB project, it's that good! Updates, support, information and help are more than one can expect.

Functionality

Lots of useful and fancy ways to extend user profiles as well as user management and site security. Available plugins make it even better.

Ease of use

Fairly straightforward until you get into the fancier stuff, such as Ajax field interaction, which can require writing code snippets.

Support

Support for paid subscribers is AMAZING. Turn-around time on bug fixes measured in HOURS, not days. Even for unpaid it's fabulous.

Documentation

Documentation is lacking somewhat. There's a lot this code can do that you have to ask about to learn about. Great support helps.

I used this to: My main use is for my neighborhood HOA website. But I have used it on other community sites in the past. My own Dada Mail Subscriptons plugin has been operational on this site for over a decade, and has almost no API issues. CB is rock solid!
