Display Component in Module Goodness

Posted on 18 May 2013
I initially downloaded this plugin because I wanted to display the registration view of the users component in a module. I thought I would have to hack the plugin to do this (run the replace inside the onAfterRender method on the rendered content)...

But then to my delight and surprise when I was adding a Custom HTML Module for the plugin tag I noticed this wonderful setting: "Prepare Content".

Enabling this setting means that the Custom Html Module content will run thru the onPrepareContent method! To explain this in plain english to you non-programmers out there:

This means that you can output a component in modules as well as articles! Just put the tag in a Custom HTML module and activate the Prepare Content setting in the options tab.

Kudos for this great and useful plugin!

Great Extension

Works exactly as advertised, no messing around, looks beautiful and there are a ton of options to tweak it to your color scheme, etc.

I tried a few others and non compare to the ease of using BT Login. It's great that it is free as well. Kudos!

Promising but not ready.

Going by the demo I can see that you have not even got form validation for the customer fields (it is possible to checkout with an invalid email), if you are going to sell something it must be as perfect as you can get it, lack of form validation is unacceptable in a shopping cart checkout. I am giving you a 5 star rating because everyone deserves a second chance, but until this is fixed I wouldn't recommend anyone buy this component - missing something as simple as form validation probably means there are more issues.
Owner's reply: Hi WP4J, thanks for trying out our demo. Our form validation was limited to checking if a value was inserted for required fields. After reading your review we _immediately_ added email validation, with email typos suggestions when you wrongly type a common email provider domain, and of course we updated the demo to reflect it.

There will surely be other things missing or not perfect in the extension: it's 2 weeks old, and our philosophy is not to build a fully finished extension in a vacuum and then release it, but work on the most important things that we can, our minimal viable product, and then make it public to check the real needs of our customers, listen to their needs, and fix, add features, refine the extension over time and make it better day after day.

I was having issues with Mootools causing Disqus problems.. installed and activated no more problems.. easy and smooth, that's the way I like it!
