It's so simple to install you think there should be more instructions but they're not needed.

Value for money
I used this to: I use this so that users can use their email address instead of user name on login, password reset etc. Works with Hikashop login form so will probably work with anything that requires you to login.

Excellent support

Like other reviewers I was caught out when the Sagepay plugin on an old VM1 site from another provider stopped working and I discovered the provider had gone out of business. I approached media street and was delighted to find they had a version they had developed for VM1. They then went above and beyond what might be reasonably expected to resolve issues specific to my site. Great attitude and successful solution. Thank you!

A must have component

Universal AJAX Live Search is a huge advance on the standard Joomla search mechanism and in my view an essential component for any modern site. It works with modified versions of the Joomla search plugin system and is capable of searching a growing range of popular extensions bringing back images and relevant data, including prices from shopping carts, and displaying these in a pleasing way. There is a bit of a learning curve as the system comprises a component, a search module and a display module along with the necessary plugins but the developer has made the installation and configuration of these as straightforward as possible. I had a couple of issues with plugins for Joomgallery and Hikashop and these were modified to my requirements without delay. This extension will revolutionise the way you think about, not just search, but the role search plays within your site, and it comes with great support. Highly recommended.

Works very well but tricky to customise

This module does exactly what it says and comes with a number of pre-configured styles and options which would be perfect for most users. To ensure that the module works "out of the box" under most circumstances the developer has hard coded a number of styling parameters (such as the font used) which I found tricky to over ride even though there are style configuration options in the modules admin screen. The developer was very responsive and helpful to requests for assistance and I did achieve what I wanted in the end, so I am happy to give this 5 stars.

Time to try something else

I have used Virtuemart for about five years and grew to love VM1 despite it's quirks. Virtuemart 2 is a different animal and despite several attempts over the last year to migrate a site to it I have given up. I'm also frustrated that VM is not yet supporting Joomla 3.0 (yes I've read the argument about 3.5 being the long term release but people want to build Joomla 3 sites now and other components support it). So for me thank you Virtuemart, I'll keep in touch but for now I'm moving on.

Essential component

I have used Joomap, upon which this component is built, to great effect on a number of sites but Joomap doesn't appear to have been updated for a while and didn't work properly for me on my latest virtuemart site.

Xmap has picked up the baton and works really well - although it may take those unfamiliar with joomap a while to figure it out. Only problem I had was that the option to edit menu items included in the map didn't work in Firefox (worked fine in Chrome though). Also there is a link to the author which is on by default but which can be switched off in preferences.

It's great to have a properly working sitemap again - thanks to the authors and also the original author of joomap.

Value for money
I suppose if it were free it would be better value for money but you can't expect software and support of this quality for nothing!
I used this to: User submitted galleries on a photography related website.
