Description:
This is a flexible flash file upload module, based on SWFUpload 2.2.0.1. It allows the administrator to specify a destination folder, and allows the user to upload files to it. The administrator can also specify the text in the front end. You can even have multiple plugins on the same page.
Main features:
> Theme Selector
> Button Sprite Selector
> Upload files to a specified folder path from the joomla root directory.
> Specify the maximum file size permitted to be uploaded. This value can vary for each instance of the plugin on the page.
> Specify the types of files, by extension and by MIME type, that are permitted.
> Customize the upload label and submit button texts.
> Customize the submit and cancel buttons via image sprite and css, respectively
> Specify the color and size of the progress bar to match your theme
> Customize the overall styles via css to match your theme
> Specify the maximum upload limit and queue limit
> Specify whether to replace existing files on upload
> Default parameters are specified in the Plugin Manager instance
> EVERY parameter can be uniquely customized for each instance of the plugin on the same article page.
> Optionally, send an email notification of all successful uploads to a specified email address
>Plugin Manager colors available through custom Color Picker
Known Issues:
This plugin is designed to work on PHP 5.3+. If you have an earler version of PHP, you may encounter issues with detecting the MIME type of the uploaded file. This depends on your server setup, as it should work fine if PHP is allowed to call the exec function. Please visit the support site for advice on compatibility with earlier versions of PHP.
I have tried making the same plug-in using SWFUpload, spent a couple of weeks and made it for Joomla 1.5.
This time I need it for Joomla 1.7 and I found it here. Though it is listed as commercial but in other words free extension comes with mandatory offering of cup-of-coffee.

First off the author has great support for a product that is perfect for a simple uploader.
This is a fast clean product, i have checked them all out trying to get a clean fast simple uploader for people who just dont know computers well and this is the deal.
Some work some dont But this is Great!!! Try it you wont be disappointed , the progress bar is great.

We have a page for members to freely share their vacation images and movie clips. For this page we used Easy File Uploader, a handy free extension usable as both a module and plugin. Now that we have switched to Easy Flash Uploader we find the status bar feature and upload speeds hands down fantastic! Not only is its look customizable but the process makes the upload experience (queues, multiple instances per page, etc) slightly addictive.
