Like many of you, we really ‘like’ JomSocial’s new “like/dislike” feature, but it still falls short of doing the kinds of things we think a robust “like” system should do.

We wanted it to do more, much more.

Despite your community members now being able to “like” community photos, profiles, videos, groups and events in JomSocial 2.2, believe it or not, JomSocial still cannot add “like” activity to your community activity stream (a glaring omission); it does not allow admins to change the default “thumbs up/thumbs down” icon set...and worse yet, you can only use it in your JomSocial community. What if you want more control over JomSocial’s “Like” feature AND have the ability to use it not only in your JomSocial community, but also on Joomla articles, news posts..even K2 items?

About jomLike

jomLike! is a powerful new component and plugin for JomSocial 2.0+ which adds JomSocial’s popular community “like” feature to other areas of your Joomla website, too--like Joomla articles, blog posts, news--and yes, even K2 items! You can now have a slick, all-in-one “Like” system throughout your ENTIRE Joomla website..not just on your JomSocial community.

jomLike! even lets you easily change the default JomSocial like/dislike icon set, too. With 1-click, your entire Joomla website--even your Jomsocial community--will be instantly updated with the new “like/dislike” icons of your choice. We’ve included 5 icon sets to get you started (including the gorgeous default Jomsocial “thumbs up/thumbs down” set); and will be adding more to future versions of jomLike.

But that’s not all jomLike does...

jomLike! also pings your JomSocial activity stream with the “like” activity of not only community actions but also “like” activity outside your community, for example “like” actions on your joomla articles, news posts and K2 items. It truly is an all-in-one “like” solution for your entire Joomla website.

Features at a glance in jomLike! 1.0+

- jomLike! adds a JomSocial “like/dislike” button to Joomla articles, news posts...even K2 items!

- jomLike! instantly adds your member’s article “likes”, news post “likes” and k2 item “likes” to your community activity stream. Imagine the increased discussions, buzz, and pageviews your new blog post will generate on and off your site when word spreads in your community that someone “liked” it.

- jomLike! instantly adds your members’ community “likes” (video, photos, events & groups) to your JomSocial activity stream for all to see, share & comment on (“Bob liked Jill’s video” or “Mike liked Steven’s photo” etc). Surprisingly, this feature DOES NOT currently exist in JomSocial 2.2+, and we thought it should. After all, isn’t that the point of having an interactive community on your site in the first place?

- jomLike! even lets you easily change the default JomSocial like/dislike icon set to one of 5 bra

I've used several components from corephp. Jomlike is really my favorite one. I would recomment corephp to my friends. They provide an awesome support service when I need help with troubleshooting.

I LOVE this extension. Worked perfectly after I installed it and it was really easy to set up. I've loved JomSocial's new like/dislike feature since it was first introduced a few weeks back. My only problem was I wanted my entire Joomla website to have that kind of 'like' functionality. I'm happy to say that this extension does just that. Now folks can like my K2 stuff, my Joomla articles and my community activities using the same 'like/dislike' tool. You can also use Jomlike even if you don't have jomsocial..which is pretty cool. But if you do have jomsocial installed, well..that's when the real fun begins. You can change out the like icons throughout your whole site pretty easily. It's all set up in the backend of the component. I'm happy with this extension!
