Introduction

Images

This Joomla! extension resizes and adjusts on the fly all the images related to an article (in the Text, Intro Image and Full Article Image) following for each image type a set of options written in the plug-in settings page.

  • Get this

After creation, the new image is saved in a special cache folder so that it can be reused for next page loads. The image in the cache folder is valid until new resize parameters are defined.

The benefits of this plug-in are:
- you do not need to worry about the size of the original image during the upload of the same: this will be resized later according to graphics needs;
- you can change image sizes in all already published article simply by changing the parameters within the plug-in options: so there's no problem you want to change the width or height of an already published images (eg. if you increase the width of the article container you might increase the width of all images fitting 100% the article width area);
- it is possible to use crop function (resize and cut the original image in a new one with a different aspect ratio).

A must for every Joomla site!

I think it should be a core plugin of Joomla, it make life easy when it comes to work with blog thumbnails and full images.

Nice integration with module and menu overrides too.

A great thanks!!!

this plugin simple a efficient, perfect for the normal user.

Thse documentation is excellent as well.

You made my day! :-)

Thank you!

I would love this extension to work fully. This should be a built in Joomla core functionality, who wants to upload intro images in different size separately?! Seem so obvious to me, creating more work, CMS should be about saving work.

In any case, unfortunately for me, on my Joomla 3.3.1 website it would only resize the image in the article, not the one in the intro text, which is what I need it for.

Owner's reply: Tested on Joomla 3.3.3, it works.
Mind that images placed within the intro text (before the "Read more") follows the general article image rules. "Intro Image Size" setting if for the image set to the "Intro Image" article field.

Plugging a hole in Joomla

This plugin is wonderful!

In my opinion Joomla should do resize images by default. Where Joomla stops, this plugin starts. Wordpress does this and so should Joomla.

I have been able to implement this plugin into my own custom built modules. I have a lot of customers who don't understand the concept of image size so this plugin means that I don't have to explain about resizing images before uploading them.

Thanks again for a great plugin!
