In the old Joomla! 1.5 when you wanted to transfer database items to a different Joomla, just an export/import of the required database tables would do the job. With the new Joomla! 1.6, 1.7, 2.5, 3.x and above, this is no longer possible.
This tool is doing just exactly that.

This extension makes what could be a very difficult task and simplifies it. If you have hundreds of articles to transfer from one Joomla site to another then you need this extension. The replies to my questions were very fast. NOTE: Make sure to add the public IP address of the destination site into the cPanel -> Databases -> Remote MySQL of the source site.
I was faced with the task of transferring hundreds of thousands of articles from my old Joomla site to the newly designed one. I was at loss on how I will get this accomplished with the time constraint imposed by my clients. SP Transfer was able to get this done for me. What was more mind-boggling was that these articles were imported along with their respective categories & sections so I was saved the time of having to sort these myriads of articles into their associated categories!
I wanted to migrate data from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 2.5. Installation was very easy. Ran into an issue with MySQLi not been enabled on my VPS. My hosting company sorted that out and then the component worked like a charm. Excellent component, does exactly what it says. Well worth the money and the support is excellent as well. Every Joomla administrator needs this component, makes life so much easier. Thanks to the developer for creating it.
I received what I can only describe as excellent customer service during the deployment of this extension. I was in actual fact using an unsupported version of Joomla and it was my mistake - but I received help immediately. A huge Thank You to the team.
SP Transfer is a great extension. It make moving individual database items from one database to another very easy.
The interface is very clean and intuitive.
It worked correctly the first time without a single glitch.
The documentation is simple and straightforward.
Despite the time zone difference, the developer helped solve a minor purchase issue very quickly.
Extensions that work exactly like the specs are a pleasure to work with. I can't wait to try more of their software if the need arises.

great component, totally worth the €... read the instructions and it worked out of the box! i accomplsihed my task within a few minutes...

I can not say enough about the customer service I received while migrating my old j1.6.6 site to j2.5. SP CYEND stuck with me until everything was correct. The issue was me! Since I do not know joomla that well I had purchased the wrong product for my needs. SP CYEND opened a direct communication with me and solved my issue. At all times, they were very empathetic towards my situation and ready to help. Thank you SP CYEND..... you saved the day.
So easy to use - it just works - quickly and efficiently.
I had to rebuild a whole site from scratch (just because the front end editor wasn't working and I just couldn't figured out why!) and it was just what I needed so I didn't have to redo all the modules, articles, users, etc, etc. Well worth it's price for the amount of time it has saved me.
Just remember to install it on your NEW destination site not the old one :)

Due to need of upgrades for several sites based on Joomla, have to move data from - to. From 1.7 to 2.5 used some other apps, but I have sites yet on 1.5, so, direct transfering isn't possible (at least I do not know the way). Found this app and decided to buy it.
Have to say:
1. installation was easy and fats, no problems
2. interface is quite clean and simple as well
3. I am not a pro in data bases, just use them w/o any programming skills, so, there was some obstacles - I couldn't connect from-to and did not get transfers.
Just asked in e-mail - assistance is excellent, author replied quickly, with detailed advices.
Finally, I got to real transfer - it was quick and correct.
May be people before buyng this app should know, that if they plan to transfer data from free hostings, that can be not possible, a susually such hosts might not provide port opening for remote access to data base.
You have to have remote access to source data base - only then you will get data out.
In other words - tool from the range "admin must have".
Recommend, it is worth the price.

I am cloning my site in preparation for upgrading to 2.5. I wanted an easy way to extract the content and boy did I find it. With SP_Transfer I was able to clone content and users to a test site in less than 10 minutes after downloading the component. Install is a snap, launch the component, set the source database, select the items to move, and click OK. One of the nice feature is that there's a lot of granularity in what to transfer. An extra benefit is that it automatically detects ID or alias duplicates and you can configure whether to not transfer those items or create a new ID/alias for them.
